Oggi vi racconto di un marchio che si è affacciato da poco nel mondo dei beads: NIWA BEADS.
Risulta di nuova apparizione sui social ma in realtà possiede una storia di oltre trent'anni.
In una piccola isola della Thailandia, Koh Samui, nel 1987 Anan Poopaiboon e Sanchawee Poopaiboon fondano il "Farn Shop", un laboratorio orafo artigianale dove creano gioielli in argento e che con il passare degli anni diviene una azienda sempre più attiva.
Alla scomparsa di Anan Poopaiboon, zio Piak, e Sanchawee Poopaiboon, zia Jiab, nel 2016 la nipote Daraphan Gerasch prende le redini dell'azienda ed insieme ai suoi fratelli inizia a creare beads per differenti mercati attraverso tre marchi: "Mama-Mala" venduto in Asia; "The Luxury" venduto in Dubai; "Niwa Beads" venduto il tutto il mondo.
NIWA in giapponese significa "giardino", quindi il nome lascia immaginare che l'ispirazione provenga principalmente dalla natura, potremmo così tradurlo ne "Il giardino dei beads".
La Thailandia in effetti la si può considerare come un giardino pieno di bellezze, se prendiamo ad esempio l'isola di Koh Samui, che è il fulcro di un arcipelago di ottanta isole e dunque tra le più famose, in aggiunta alle bellissime spiagge è conosciuta come "l'isola dei cocchi", con ben oltre diecimila palme da cocco da cui, gli isolani, traggono frutti e fibre che servono per imbottiture di poltrone e letti. Famose anche le sue foreste e le cascate Namuang e Hin Lat che formano piscine d'acqua dolce.

Attualmente Niwa Beads ha due sedi, una a Berlino in Germania ed una a Bangkok in Thailandia.

Ricevuto il pacco da "Beads Fanatic", dopo averlo aperto ho notato due scatoline chiuse da una bella etichetta rotonda riproducente il logo di "BF", molto carine e funzionali. Una volta dischiuse, mi si è rivelata una pioggia di stelline colorate, una vera "chicca", una attenzione in più per il cliente che, sono certa, per un attimo torna bambino. Io la sono tornata senza dubbio, con la stessa emozione!

Il packaging di Niwa Beads è molto originale ed in tema natura.
Il sacchettino che contiene "Lucky Me Spacers" è realizzato all'uncinetto e per chi, come me, apprezza le cose fatte a mano, è una vera delizia, senza contare che lo si può riutilizzare in altro modo, ad esempio mettendoci dentro fiori di lavanda essiccati e farne così un profuma biancheria.
I sacchettini che contengono i dangles invece sono in stoffa nera riproducenti il logo Niwa Beads. Accompagnano i dangles un cuore in legno con corteccia ed un disco, sempre di legno, in cui è impresso il numero di serie.
La "coppa" in argento che riveste l'apice della sfera, è finemente lavorata con piccole margherite e foglioline a tralcio, tutt'intorno, sino a salire sull'anello passante che funge da ingresso per il bracciale.
Nella sua sommità si può scorgere una deliziosa libellula, direi senza dubbio un particolare e un dettaglio che conferisce valore ed unicità a questi dangles. Probabilmente uno dei "pazzi" dettagli che crea Daraphan ;-)La sfera di malachite rivela le striature della pietra in un misto di chiaroscuri e al tatto risulta perfettamente liscia.
In cristalloterapia, la malachite rafforza lo spirito di osservazione e la consapevolezza facendo prendere coscienza di desideri e bisogni. Considerata un simbolo della figura femminile, rappresenta seduzione, sensualità, senso estetico. Conosciuta anche come "pietra delle ostetriche" in quanto si ritiene sia in grado di alleviare i problemi mestruali e facilitare il parto.
La sfera di turchese rivela le classiche insenature e venature scure riconoscibili anche al tatto.
Il turchese, in cristalloterapia, stabilizza gli stati d'animo estremi, infonde nuova energia nei momenti di stanchezza e promuove notevolmente l'intuizione oltre a proteggere dalle influenze esterne quando si è troppo sensibili. Utilizzato come amuleto, secondo una leggenda il turchese era in grado di avvertire l'avvicinarsi di un pericolo.
Si può dunque scegliere la pietra non soltanto in base al colore, quindi di valore puramente estetico, ma anche in base alle sue proprietà terapeutiche.
"Lucky Me Spacers", ossia i distanziatori in argento, pur non essendo molto grandi riescono ugualmente a farsi notare per la lavorazione che gira tutto intorno, riportando il disegno floreale di quadrifogli.
Distanziatori a perfetto completamento di questi due bellissimi dangles.
La coppia di distanziatori ed i dangles stessi si prestano senza dubbio sia al bracciale morbido che al bangle.
Evocativi di giornate all'aria aperta, fiori da cogliere, profumi, questi beads di NIWA conferiscono carattere al bracciale ed è piacevole vederne i giochi di colore attraverso la luce del sole.
I dangles costano cadauno €59,00; la coppia di distanziatori costa €69,00.
NIWA Beads è sicuramente un brand da tenere d'occhio, credo ci riserverà belle sorprese!

At the death of Anan Poopaiboon, uncle Piak, and Sanchawee Poopaiboon, aunt Jiab, in 2016 the niece Daraphan Gerasch takes the reins of the company and together with her brothers begins to create beads for different markets through three brands: "Mama-Mala" sold in Asia; "The Luxury" sold in Dubai; "Niwa Beads" sold all over the world.
NIWA in Japanese means "garden", so the name suggests that the inspiration comes mainly from nature, so we could translate it into "The garden of the beads".
Thailand can actually be considered as a garden full of beauty, if we take for example the island of Koh Samui, which is the fulcrum of an archipelago of eighty islands and therefore among the most famous, in addition to the beautiful beaches is known like "the island of coconut trees", with well over ten thousand coconut palms from which, the islanders, draw fruits and fibers that are used for padding of armchairs and beds. Also famous are its forests and the Namuang and Hin Lat waterfalls that form freshwater pools.
Daraphan draws his jewels in fact inspired by nature but not only, the roots, ancestors, the origins of man, his history and, inevitably, the emotions that spring from it are also a source of inspiration for every single bead he represents this world, with the addition of small and "crazy" details, to be discovered from time to time.
Currently Niwa Beads has two locations, one in Berlin in Germany and one in Bangkok in Thailand.
European retailer of the brand is "Beads Fanatic" of Valencia in Spain (present on the main social networks and with its own e-commerce in which to buy directly, with well detailed photographs of every single bead. www.beadsfanatic.com).
The beads I want to talk about are two dangles and a couple of spacers, respectively: "Daisy Garden Malachite Dangle", "Daisy Garden Turquoise Dangle" and "Lucky Me Spacers".
Each beads is sold in limited series.
Received the package from "Beads Fanatic", after opening it I noticed two boxes closed by a nice round label reproducing the "BF" logo, very nice and functional. Once it opened up, it turned out to be a shower of colored stars, a real "gem", an extra attention for the customer who, I am sure, returns as a child for a moment. I came back without a doubt, with the same emotion!
Surprise and enthusiasm, however, do not end there, indeed!
The packaging of Niwa Beads is very original and in nature.
The little bag that contains "Lucky Me Spacers" is crocheted and for those who, like me, appreciate handmade things, it is a real treat, not to mention that you can reuse it in another way, for example by putting flowers in it like dried lavender and make it into a linen perfume.
The little bags that contain the dangles instead are in black fabric reproducing the Niwa Beads logo. The dangles are accompanied by a wooden heart with bark and a wooden disc in which the serial number is stamped.
The "Daisy Garden Malachite Dangle" and the "Daisy Garden Turquoise Dangle" that is pendants in silver and semi-precious stones, have a pleasant consistency, neither too light nor too heavy.
The silver "cup" that covers the apex of the sphere, is finely worked with small daisies and leaflets with branches, all around, up to the loop that acts as an entrance for the bracelet. At its top you can see a delicious dragonfly, I would say without doubt a detail and a detail that gives value and uniqueness to these dangles. Probably one of the "crazy" details that Daraphan creates ;-)
The malachite sphere reveals the streaks of the stone in a mixture of light dark and to the touch it is perfectly smooth.
In crystal therapy, malachite strengthens the spirit of observation and awareness by making people aware of desires and needs. Considered a symbol of the female figure, it represents seduction, sensuality, aesthetic sense. Also known as "stone of midwives" as it is believed to be able to alleviate menstrual problems and facilitate childbirth.
The turquoise sphere reveals the classic creeks and dark veins that can be recognized by touch.
Turquoise, in crystal therapy, stabilizes extreme moods, infuses new energy in times of fatigue and greatly promotes intuition as well as protecting from external influences when you are too sensitive. Used as an amulet, according to a legend the turquoise was able to feel the approach of a danger.
Stone can therefore be chosen not only on the basis of color, therefore of a purely aesthetic value, but also on the basis of its therapeutic properties.
"Lucky Me Spacers", that is the silver spacers, even though they are not very large, they manage to make themselves noticed for the work that goes all around, bringing back the floral design of four-leaf clovers.
Spacers to perfectly complement these two beautiful dangles.
The pair of spacers and the dangles themselves undoubtedly lend themselves to either the soft bracelet or the bangle.
Evocative of days in the open air, flowers to be picked, perfumes, these NIWA beads give character to the bracelet and it is pleasant to see the play of colors through the sunlight.
The dangles cost € 59.00 each; the pair of spacers costs € 69.00.
NIWA Beads is definitely a brand to keep an eye on, I think it will give us nice surprises!
