La mia recensione della nuova collezione di BARBÄRICA - My review of the new Barbärica collection

Ed eccoci arrivati al fatidico giorno del lancio ufficiale della nuova collezione di BARBÄRICA, marchio spagnolo con sede a Jerez de la Frontera.
Prima di addentrarmi nei dettagli dei nuovi beads però, vorrei raccontarvi un poco chi si cela dietro questo marchio. 

Barbara Garcia-Fresca è l'artista che si cela dietro il marchio Barbärica, donna eclettica e sicuramente molto creativa.
Come avrete modo di capire, i nomi per Barbara sono evocativi di altri "mondi".
Barbärica, che prende il nome da come i genitori erano soliti chiamarla da bambina, è la evoluzione di "Dilaï Beads", nato all'incirca due anni fa e che molti di voi hanno sicuramente conosciuto.
Barbara, come ho scritto, è una artista e questa parola, più che artigiana, la rappresenta al meglio in quanto non si ferma alla sola creazione di beads ma, con il talento indubbio che possiede, si esprime anche attraverso altre forme di arte quali la scrittura e la pittura.
Ha scritto infatti una serie dedicata al mondo fantasy e Dilaï Beads prende nome da una isola descritta proprio nei suoi libri.
Col tempo però questo nome perde un poco di valenza agli occhi di Barbara, decide così di cambiarlo in "Barbärica", divenuto marchio registrato in questo anno 2019.

Barbara ha studiato medicina (difatti è medico al Pronto Soccorso dell'ospedale della sua città) e contemporaneamente ha studiato Belle Arti in una accademia privata.
L'arte però è la sua vera passione ed i percorsi per raggiungere il vetro sono stati molteplici, da ultimo la forgiatura di gioielli, che le ha fatto comprendere di essere sulla buona strada ma non su quella perfetta per lei. E la strada perfetta per Barbara è stata dare vita ad un ricordo che si portava appresso sin da bambina e che ha segnato inconsapevolmente il suo cammino. Quando un amico le regalò un cubo rotto di uno Swarovski della madre e nell'osservarlo ci vide una iridescenza, fu una specie di illuminazione per l'allora Barbara bambina.
La Barbara donna e artista di oggi vuole così ricreare e donare a tutti noi la medesima magia sperimentata da bambina, attraverso quel cubo, e lo fa mediante la lavorazione del vetro.

Un amore puro per questo materiale che possiamo facilmente percepire tramite i suoi beads. Me ne viene in mente uno, "Firie" (dalla serie Magic Stones), dove un nucleo di fuoco sembra vivere all'interno di questo particolarissimo bead, di connotazione quasi rudimentale e per questo altrettanto potente; Firie prende il nome da alcune pietre magiche che Laila, la protagonista dei suoi libri, utilizza.

La sfida che si è posta Barbara è raddoppiata pochi mesi fa grazie anche all'aiuto del suo compagno Victor, che la sostiene nei suoi progetti; insieme hanno pianificato di commercializzare il prodotto, mettendo ordine ai beads esistenti attraverso serie con un filo conduttore.

Barbara realizza i beads nel suo laboratorio con strumenti nuovi di zecca ma ciò che non dovremo mai chiederle è il segreto della formula per ottenere effetti così particolari ed originali.

Con Giovanni Romano come distributore internazionale esclusivo, Barbärica fa così un ulteriore passo in avanti, contando su di un serio supporto logistico, commerciale e di marketing, consentendo dunque ai rivenditori di tutto il mondo di vendere facilmente i suoi beads.

Ed ora andiamo a scoprire le novità Barbärica!

Nuove serie: Serie Cocktail, Serie Spice Market e Serie Spy Diamonds

La serie Cocktail, come lascia facilmente intendere il nome, vede protagonisti quattro beads in vetro dalla texture semiruvida e dall'indubbio effetto ghiaccio.

 

Vodka in un delicato pervinca, Honey in color giallo ambrato, Raspberry dal colore viola più intenso e Plum dal colore viola chiaro.

Quattro beads di carattere che possono dare vita ad un elegante e modaiolo bracciale.

Ho interpretato insieme Plum e Vodka immaginando un appuntamento galante ed elegante per un Cocktail a due.

La serie Spice Market si compone di quattro beads in vetro dalla texture satinata e dall'effetto opaco.

Black Pepper in una tonalità media di grigio; Saffron in un giallo ambrato; Rosemary in un verde chiaro brillante e Sumac in un viola che vira al bordeaux.

Ispirata ad Instanbul, Dehli e Casablanca ed ai loro mercati, questa serie ne evoca il profumo attraverso i colori e ne evoca la soffice palpabilità dei tessuti in seta, con cui sono confezionati i sari indiani, attraverso la texture.

Quattro beads pronti ad adornare in modo suggestivo le imminenti giornate autunnali, complici i colori caldi.

Ho interpretato questa serie pensando all'autunno, agli odori pungenti e persistenti delle spezie, talvolta legnosi, avviluppati insieme come in una spirale di aromi e ricordi.

 

 

La serie Spy Diamonds si compone, per ora, di due beads lisci di grandi dimensioni, con all'interno uno zircone.

007 base nera ed uno zircone centrale; Mata Hari base rosso/bordeaux variegata in viola/blu, con uno zircone sempre al centro.

Ispirati senza dubbio alla famosa serie che vede James Bond protagonista tra donne e diamanti, questi beads catalizzano sguardi, è il caso di dire "solo per i tuoi occhi".
007 lo trovo perfetto al centro di un bangle ma può essere di spicco ovunque.

Nuovi colori per le serie Steampunk Gears e Boulders

La serie Steampunk Gears, con i suoi ingranaggi inseriti all'interno dei grossi beads in vetro, evoca atmosfere da film gotico-vittoriani proiettati nel futuro, donando spettacolarità a dispetto del minimalismo.
I nuovi colori sono Airship Pearl Grey, in un neutro grigio perla e Bio-Hazard Green in un verde prato brillante.
Vanno così ad aggiungersi ai già esistenti Rust Copper, Nautilus Blue Cobalt e Lady Granate.

Una serie che non può mancare per gli appassionati del genere a completamento di beads in argento già realizzati da altri marchi sul genere "steampunk", o semplicemente per aggiungere un tocco di originalità e protagonismo alle proprie composizioni.

La serie Boulders si avvale di un nuovo bead realizzato in esclusiva per il rivenditore Beads Fanatic, ossia Boulder Opal Rainbow, un particolare bead che simula un masso, con protuberanze ed un nucleo iridescente; un bead che mostra forza e delicatezza insieme, proprio come la pietra di Opale.

La serie si compone di: Boulder Opal Green, Boulder Opal Pink, Boulder Opal Purple, Boulder Opal Gold, Boulder Opal Copper e Boulder Opal Blue.

Della intera ed originale serie trovo questo "Rainbow" sia il perfetto suo completamento, sempre che sia completata…o invece ci sia altro in cantiere pronto a sorprenderci ;-)

Da unico vetro tra argenti "importanti", non si fa rubare la scena. Nato per essere protagonista!

Il catalogo di Barbärica va dunque ampliandosi, non c'è che l'imbarazzo della scelta ;-)

I beads, a seconda delle serie, possono variare di dimensione.
Ogni bead ha un rivetto in argento che da un lato riporta la scritta BARBARICA e dall'altro riporta il numero 925 che corrisponde al titolo dell'argento.
Abituati, ad esempio, ai rivetti di Trollbeads, questi possono apparire un poco "vistosi".
Come ogni cosa, credo sia una questione di abitudine, nell'insieme di un bracciale questo rivetto più grande rispetto ad altri, si nota ma non troppo e non disturba l'armonia delle composizioni.

Barbara studied medicine (in fact she is a doctor in the emergency room of her city hospital) and at the same time she studied fine arts in a private academy. Art, however, is her true passion and the paths to reach the glass have been associated, finally the jewelry forging, which has made us understand that we are on the right track but not the perfect one for her. And the perfect road for Barbara was to dare life and a memory that she took with her as a child and that unknowingly marked her path. When a friend gave her a broken cube of a mother's Swarovski and in observing it there is an iridescence, a kind of lighting for the then-child Barbara. Today's Barbara woman and artist wants to recreate and give us all the same magic experienced as a child, through that cube, and she does it through glass processing.


A pure love for this material that we can easily perceive through its beads. One comes to mind, "Firie" (from Magic Stones series) where a nucleus of fire seems to live inside this very particular bead, of almost rudimentary connotation and therefore equally powerful; Firie takes its name from some magic stones that Laila, the protagonist of her books, uses. The challenge that Barbara set herself doubled a few months ago thanks to the help of her partner Victor, who supports her in her projects; together they planned to market the product, ordering the existing beads through series with a common thread.
Barbara makes the beads in her laboratory with brand new instruments but what we will never have to ask her is the secret of the formula to obtain such special and original effects.

With Giovanni Romano as the exclusive international distributor, Barbärica takes this a step further, relying on serious logistic, commercial and marketing support, thus allowing retailers around the world to easily sell its beads. And now let's discover the new Barbärica!

New series: Cocktail Series, Spice Market Series and Spy Diamonds Series

The Cocktail series, as the name easily suggests, features four glass beads with a semi-rough texture and an undoubted ice effect.

Vodka in a delicate periwinkle, Honey in amber yellow, Raspberry with a more intense violet color and Plum with a light purple color.

Four character beads that can give life to an elegant and fashionable bracelet.

I played Plum and Vodka together imagining a gallant and elegant date for a cocktail for two.

The Spice Market series consists of four glass beads with a satin texture and a matt effect.
Black Pepper in a medium shade of gray; Saffron in an amber yellow; Rosemary in a bright light green and Sumac in a purple that turns to burgundy.
Inspired by Istanbul, Dehli and Casablanca and their markets, this series evokes the scent through colors and evokes the soft palpability of silk fabrics, with which Indian saris are made, through texture.

Four beads ready to beautifully adorn the upcoming autumn days, thanks to the warm colors.
I interpreted this series thinking of autumn, the pungent and persistent smells of spices, sometimes woody, wrapped together like a spiral of aromas and memories.

The Spy Diamonds series is composed, for now, of two large smooth beads, with a zircon inside.

007 black base and a central zircon; Mata Hari base red / burgundy variegated in purple / blue, with a zircon always in the center.

Undoubtedly inspired by the famous series that sees James Bond protagonist between women and diamonds, these beads catalyze looks, it is appropriate to say "for your eyes only".
007 I find it perfect in the middle of a bangle but it can be prominent anywhere.

New colors for the Steampunk Gears and Boulders series

The Steampunk Gears series, with its gears inserted inside the large glass beads, evokes atmospheres of Gothic-Victorian films projected into the future, giving spectacularity in spite of minimalism. The new colors are Airship Pearl Gray, in a neutral pearl gray and Bio-Hazard Green in a bright green lawn. This adds to the existing Rust Copper, Nautilus Blue Cobalt and Lady Granate.

A series that cannot be missed for fans of the genre to complete silver beads already made by other brands on the "steampunk" genre, or simply to add a touch of originality and protagonism to their compositions.

The Boulders series uses a new bead exclusively created for the Beads Fanatic dealer, namely Boulder Opal Rainbow, a particular bead that simulates a boulder, with protuberances and an iridescent core; a bead that shows strength and delicacy together, just like the Opal stone.


The series consists of: Boulder Opal Green, Boulder Opal Pink, Boulder Opal Purple, Boulder Opal Gold, Boulder Opal Copper and Boulder Opal Blue.

Of the whole and original series I find this "Rainbow" to be its perfect completion, provided it is completed ... or instead there is more on site ready to surprise us ;-)

From a single glass between "important" silver, the scene is not stolen. Born to be a protagonist!

The Barbärica catalog is therefore expanding, there is plenty of choice ;-)

The beads, depending on the series, can vary in size.
Each bead has a silver rivet which bears the word BARBARICA on one side and the number 925 which corresponds to the title of silver on the other.
Accustomed, for example, to the rivets of Trollbeads, these may appear a little "showy".
Like everything, I think it is a matter of habit, in the set of a bracelet this rivet bigger than others, it is noted but not too much and does not disturb the harmony of the compositions.
