La mia recensione della nuova collezione estate 2020 "Tramonti sul Mare" di Trollbeads - My review of Trollbeads new summer 2020 "Sunset at the Beach" collection

La nuova collezione estate 2020 di Trollbeads compie letteralmente un tuffo nel mare.
Il mare difatti è il luogo, per eccellenza, deputato alle vacanze; che sia il mare nostrano o quello dei tropici, sognare di vivere giorni spensierati è appannaggio di molti.
Chi non lo ama però potrà pensare all'ennesimo luogo comune e forse non a torto, in effetti sarebbe interessante vedere una collezione variegata dove c'è spazio per altre mete, come la montagna, i laghi, le città capitali…
Insomma, auspichiamo che prima o poi Trollbeads dedichi la collezione alle vacanze in senso lato, senza precludere nessun luogo.

Andiamo ora a scoprire nel dettaglio la collezione "Tramonti sul Mare", che si compone di sei beads in vetro, un Anello Fantasia, una chiusura ed uno Stop.


Il set di vetri "Emozioni d'Estate" dei designers Tenzin Phuntsak and Kalden Chopel, è composto da sei beads di differenti tonalità di colore ma di eguale fattura, ossia con piccoli boccioli (in gergo "buds") e linee in rilievo.
Si erano visti alcuni Unici con queste caratteristiche (senza contare il capostipite Caterpillar del Bracciale Anniversario), quindi chi già li possiede avrà modo di ampliare la propria collezione.


"Mare Turchese" offre una tonalità intensa e vivace richiamando mari incontaminati. Il cuore del bead (per cuore intendo il vetro che gira immediatamente attorno al rivetto) è appunto in color turchese, la copertura, ossia lo strato di vetro che forma il bead stesso, è trasparente con i motivi a rilievo in turchese.





"Acqua Cristallina" dal cuore bianco e dalla copertura trasparente, ricorda acque limpide. Cuore in colore bianco, copertura trasparente e motivi a rilievo in azzurro polvere, ossia una tonalità chiara di grigio azzurrato.

"Castelli di Sabbia" possiede una tonalità di grigio che rimanda al colore della sabbia sul bagnasciuga, con cui ci si diverte a farne castelli. Cuore in colore grigio chiaro, copertura trasparente e motivi a rilievo trasparenti.





"Tramonto Rosa" come dice il nome stesso, evoca il colore del cielo al tramonto nella sua sfumatura più delicata. Cuore in colore rosa baby, copertura trasparente e motivi a rilievo in fucsia.

 




"Verde Tropicale" una gradazione di verde chiaro e brillante che rimanda ai palmeti ed al mondo vegetale tipico degli ambienti marini. Cuore colore verde lime, copertura trasparente e motivi a rilievo in verde smeraldo.






"Blu Cielo" ricorda il cielo terso nelle giornate limpide di sole, nel punto di orizzonte in cui si incontra col mare. Cuore in celeste baby, copertura trasparente con motivi a rilievo in azzurro.

 



La "Chiusura Conchiglia" del designer Kristian Krysfeldt, mi ricorda il "murice spinoso", un esemplare munito di prolungamenti spinosi e dalla superficie rugosa. Ben dettagliata ma imponente, può risultare un poco ingombrante rispetto altre chiusure più piatte. Il moschettone è comunque pratico da aprire e chiudere. Da notare che alla vista frontale resta nascosto il secondo e più piccolo moschettone; il designer ha voluto così dare maggior risalto alla forma della conchiglia.


 








Lo "Stop Delfini" in argento della designer Louise Rimpler, si compone di due delfini che paion rincorrersi. Un tema animale marino già trattato ma che qui in versione Stop può risultare nuovo e funzionale per bangle e collana.


 



Infine l'"Anello Fantasia Sirenetta", sempre della designer Louise Rimpler, raffigura una sirenetta la cui coda si avvolge sino a formare l'anello. La posa, volta ad appoggiarsi con le braccia a quello che sarà il bead in vetro da infilare nel perno sottostante, risulta molto aggraziata. Sufficientemente sinuosa nelle forme, la coda a sirena incisa a simulare le squame, mentre il volto riscontro non essere particolarmente femminile e piuttosto stilizzato. Da notare che il bead inserito nel perno, purtroppo non resta bloccato, solamente infilato al dito lo rimarrà ma nel momento in cui lo sfilerete dovrete prestare molta attenzione poiché il bead uscirà alla svelta con il conseguente rischio di cadere.










Nel suo complesso questa collezione la trovo piacevole ma non ha creato in me grandi suggestioni riferite ai "tramonti sul mare" come recita il nome, mi ha invece evocato attraverso i suoi colori più intensi e brillanti, alcune sere d'estate in cui, con braccialetti fluorescenti al polso, si ballava sulla spiaggia al ritmo psichedelico ed incessante della musica di Robert Miles. Sull'onda di questo ricordo e con il brano "Children" nelle orecchie (vi sfido a rimanere fermi mentre la ascoltate), ho così creato un bracciale composto da due set "Emozioni d'Estate", in cui specularmente si ricrea l'allegria e l'energia data dai colori stessi. Una interpretazione la mia molto "pop", che coinvolge il set per intero in entrambe le combinazioni e dove in una ho integrato dei beads Unici.






Presi singolarmente possono comunque dare vita a composizioni minimali e, in base al colore scelto, ricreare altre ambientazioni, come ad esempio il bead "Castelli di Sabbia" abbinato alla Labradorite o alla Pietra di Luna Grigia; "Mare Turchese" abbinato al Lapislazzuli o allo Zaffiro; "Blu Cielo" abbinato alla Azzurrite o al Calcedonio Sfaccettato; "Verde Tropicale" abbinato alla Avventurina Verde o allo Smeraldo; "Tramonto Rosa" al Quarzo Rubino o al Quarzo Rosa e infine "Acqua Cristallina" abbinato al Quarzo Latteo o alla Agata Dendritica.






Soffermandomi un attimo ancora sul set di beads in vetro, confesso che mi sarei aspettata almeno due o tre differenti "motivi a rilievo" proprio per dare vita a composizioni maggiormente variegate. L'assenza del colore giallo, protagonista di ogni estate che si rispetti, si fa sentire soprattutto pensando al fatto che abbiano voluto dedicare la collezione al tramonto, manca questa sfumatura, a mio parere.
Da notare che, come dimensioni, questi beads sono un poco più piccoli del solito.
Vi ricordo che il set è in Edizione Limitata.







L'anello Sirenetta pare essere il pezzo forte della collezione, sicuramente molto originale e d'effetto, va detto però che rimane un poco ingombrante in quanto si sviluppa in altezza e va ricordato di prestare attenzione nello sfilarlo poiché il bead non resta agganciato al perno ma scivola via.
Io che non amo particolarmente gli anelli fantasia (ovvero gli anelli in cui si può inserire un bead) penso abbiano privilegiato la sua creazione a discapito di un nuovo bead in argento che poteva andare ad aggiungersi ad altri elementi marini del passato.
Si può però rispolverare un bead come "Isola delle Palme", che evoca vacanze da sogno e che, a mio parere, sta benissimo come focale in un bracciale attorniato dai beads del nuovo set.

Lo Stop Delfini, di media dimensione, ha una buona consistenza ed una bellissima fattura, il movimento dei due delfini che si rincorrono è ricreato in modo pregevole. Per questo reputo possa tranquillamente stare anche da solo su di un bangle. Chi ama questi mammiferi marini non può farselo mancare!

La chiusura Conchiglia, imponente ma leggera, offre una alternativa alle chiusure dedicate al mare già presenti in collezione quali la Delfino, la Piglia Pesci, la Granchio e la grande chiusura a Pesce.
A mio gusto la lavorazione è troppo "rugosa", avrei lasciato delle zone lisce per renderla un poco più luminosa.


 



La collezione è senz'altro minimal rispetto quelle invernali e può far sorgere il dubbio l'estate non sia la stagione preferita da Trollbeads, poiché negli ultimi anni le collezioni estive non sono state particolarmente eclatanti.
Sono comunque certa che, con la vostra fantasia, riuscirete a valorizzare l'acquisto di uno o più pezzi della collezione ;-)

Parlando di estate, di mare, di vacanze, vorrei consigliarvi un libro la cui narrazione è ambientata in una casa sul mare, in Bretagna, esattamente cento anni fa. Si tratta di "Lezione di nuoto - Colette e Bertrand, estate 1920". A metà via tra biografia e fantasia narrativa, l'autrice Valentina Fortichiari narra di una estate in cui la scrittrice Colette, da appassionata ed esperta nuotatrice, si ritroverà ad insegnare a Bertrand, sedicenne figlio del secondo marito, a nuotare. Alle lezioni di nuoto seguiranno lezioni d'amore, dando così inizio ad una incestuosa relazione che Colette, in parte, aveva "pronosticato" nel romanzo "Chéri".
Un libro che si legge tutto d'un fiato, che coinvolge per la passionalità dei sentimenti attraverso una fine e non banale scrittura, probabilmente dovuta alle passioni dell'autrice per Colette e per il nuoto, da nuotatrice a livello agonistico quale è stata.

My review of Trollbeads new summer 2020 "Sunset at the Beach" collection

The new Trollbeads summer 2020 collection literally takes a dip in the sea.
The sea is in fact the place par excellence for holidays; be it our own sea or that of the tropics, dreaming of living carefree days is the prerogative of many.
Those who do not love it, however, can think of yet another common place and perhaps not wrongly, in fact it would be interesting to see a varied collection where there is room for other destinations, such as the mountains, lakes, capital cities ...
In short, we hope that sooner or later Trollbeads will dedicate the collection to holidays in a broad sense, without precluding any place.


Let's now discover in detail the "Sunset at the Beach" collection, which consists of six glass beads, a Fantasy Ring, a lock and a Stop.


The "Sunset Breeze" glass set by designers Tenzin Phuntsak and Kalden Chopel is made up of six beads of different shades of color but of equal workmanship, that is with small buds (in jargon "buds") and raised lines.
Some Unique with these characteristics had been seen (not to mention the forefather Caterpillar of the Anniversary Bracelet), so those who already own them will have the opportunity to expand their collection.







"Breeze of Turquoise" offers an intense and lively hue recalling pristine seas. The heart of the bead (by heart I mean the glass that immediately turns around the rivet) is precisely in turquoise color, the cover, that is the layer of glass that forms the bead itself, is transparent with the turquoise relief motifs.

"Breeze of White" with a white heart and transparent cover, reminiscent of clear waters. White heart, transparent cover and relief motifs in powder blue, that is a light shade of bluish gray.

"Breeze of Sand" has a shade of gray that refers to the color of the sand on the shore, with which you have fun making castles. Light gray heart, transparent cover and transparent relief motifs.

"Breeze of Rose" as the name implies, evokes the color of the sky at sunset in its most delicate nuance. Baby pink heart, transparent cover and raised motifs in fuchsia.

"Breeze of Green" a gradation of light and bright green that refers to palm groves and the plant world typical of marine environments. Lime green heart, transparent cover and relief motifs in emerald green.

"Breeze of Blue" recalls the clear sky on clear sunny days, at the horizon where it meets the sea. Heart in baby blue, transparent cover with relief motifs in blue.


The "Conch Lock" by designer Kristian Krysfeldt, reminds me of the "thorny wall", a specimen with thorny extensions and a rough surface. Well detailed but imposing, it can be a little cumbersome compared to other flatter closures. The carabiner is however practical to open and close. Note that the second and smaller carabiner is hidden from the front view; thus the designer wanted to emphasize the shape of the shell.



 



The silver "Dolphins Spacer" by designer Louise Rimpler, consists of two dolphins that seem to chase each other. A marine animal theme already discussed but which in Stop version can be new and functional for bangle and necklace.


Finally, the "Mermaid Fantasy Ring", also by designer Louise Rimpler, depicts a mermaid whose tail wraps around to form the ring. The pose, aimed at resting with your arms on what will be the glass bead to be inserted in the pin below, is very graceful. Sufficiently sinuous in the forms, the mermaid tail engraved to simulate the scales, while the face is not particularly feminine and rather stylized. Note that the bead inserted in the pivot, unfortunately, does not remain blocked, only inserted on the finger will it remain but when you pull it out you will have to pay close attention since the bead will come out quickly with the consequent risk of falling.







Overall I find this collection pleasant but has not created in me great suggestions referring to the "sunsets at the beach" as the name says, instead it evoked me through its most intense and bright colors, some summer evenings in which, with fluorescent bracelets on wrist, dancing on the beach to the psychedelic and incessant rhythm of Robert Miles' music. On the wave of this memory and with the song "Children" in my ears (I challenge you to remain still while listening to it), I have thus created a bracelet made up of two sets "Sunset Breeze", in which the happiness is mirrored and the energy given by the colors themselves. My very "pop" interpretation, which involves the whole set in both combinations and where in one I have integrated Unique beads.







Taken individually, they can still create minimal compositions and, based on the chosen color, recreate other settings, such as the "Breeze of Sand" bead combined with Labradorite or Gray Moonstone; "Breeze of Turquoise" combined with Lapis Lazuli or Sapphire; "Breeze of Blue" combined with Feldspar Azurite or Faceted Chalcedony; "Breeze of Green" combined with Green Aventurine or Emerald; "Breeze of Rose" with Ruby or Rose Quartz and finally "Breeze of White" combined with Milky Quartz or Dendritic Agate.
Pausing a moment longer on the set of glass beads, I confess that I would have expected at least two or three different "relief motifs" just to give life to more varied compositions. The absence of the yellow color, the protagonist of every self-respecting summer, is felt above all by thinking about the fact that they wanted to dedicate the collection to sunset, this shade is missing, in my opinion.
Note that, in size, these beads are a little smaller than usual.
I remind you that the set is in Limited Edition.







The Mermaid Fantasy Ring seems to be the strong piece of the collection, certainly very original and effective, it must be said, however, that it remains a little bulky as it develops in height and it must be remembered to pay attention when removing it since the bead does not remain attached to the pin but it slips away.
I who do not particularly like fancy rings (i.e. the rings in which a bead can be inserted) I think they privileged its creation at the expense of a new silver bead that could be added to other marine elements of the past.
But you can brush up on a bead like "Palm Island", which evokes dream holidays and which, in my opinion, looks great as a focal in a bracelet surrounded by the beads of the new set.


The Dolphins Spacer, of medium size, has a good consistency and a beautiful workmanship, the movement of the two dolphins that chase each other is recreated in a valuable way. For this reason, I think he can safely be alone on a bangle. Who loves these marine mammals can not miss it!

The Conch Lock, imposing but light, offers an alternative to the locks dedicated to the sea already present in the collection such as the Dolphins, the Fisch, the Crab and the Big Fish.
To my taste the workmanship is too "rough", I would have left some smooth areas to make it a little brighter.


 



The collection is certainly minimal compared to the winter ones and can raise the doubt that summer is not the season preferred by Trollbeads, since in recent years the summer collections have not been particularly striking.
However, I am sure that, with your imagination, you will be able to enhance the purchase of one or more pieces from the collection ;-)

Speaking of summer, the sea, holidays, I would like to recommend a book whose narrative is set in a house on the sea, in Brittany, exactly one hundred years ago. It is "Lezione di nuoto - Colette e Bertrand, estate 1920" (only in Italian). Halfway between biography and narrative fantasy, the author Valentina Fortichiari tells of a summer in which the writer Colette, as a passionate and expert swimmer, will find herself teaching Bertrand, sixteen year old son of her second husband, to swim. Swimming lessons will be followed by love lessons, thus starting an incestuous relationship that Colette, in part, "predicted" in the novel "Chéri".
A book that can be read in one breath, involving for the passion of feelings through a fine and not trivial writing, probably due to the passions of the author for Colette and for swimming, as a swimmer at a competitive level as she has been.
