"Hobbit" è un bead realizzato da Aurora Charm in esclusiva per Pianeta Beads.
Questa piccola miniatura che raffigura uno Hobbit, conduce direttamente alla Terra di Mezzo, quel luogo dove tutto, più o meno, ebbe inizio grazie alla trilogia "Il Signore degli Anelli" dello scrittore inglese John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, che ha riscosso enorme successo in tutto il mondo e che è entrata di diritto nei classici con la definizione di "libro del XX secolo".
La storia narra di tale Bilbo Baggins, ultra centenario, che adotta il cugino Frodo Baggins, nato il suo stesso giorno, il 22 settembre.
Gli Hobbit sono un popolo discreto e modesto, amante della pace e della armonia. Timidi, posseggono udito e vista molto sviluppati, amano vestire di color sgargianti con predilezione per il verde ed il giallo. Si dividono sostanzialmente in tre razze: i Pelopiedi, gli Sturoi ed i Paloidi.

I Pelopiedi, bassi e minuti, non indossano scarpe e non portano la barba, preferiscono la montagna alla pianura ed hanno passione per l'erba-pipa, un tipo di foglia che fumano con l'ausilio di una pipa in legno o in argilla; tra le foglie più pregiate la Foglia di Pianilungone.
A sconvolgere la pacifica esistenza degli Hobbit sarà Frodo, che si lascia convincere dallo stregone Gandalf a partire per il paese delle tenebre dove dovrà gettare nelle fiamme del Monte Fato l'anello del potere, accompagnato da Gollum che in realtà vuole impossessarsene considerandolo il suo tesoro.
Un appassionante racconto epico che sono certa molti di voi conoscono anche grazie alla trasposizione cinematografica del regista Peter Jackson. Famosa la scena in cui Gollum grida "Il mio tesssoro!" ;-)
La illustrazione che qui vedete è realizzata da Catia Del Savio, collezionista Trollbeads di cui presto conosceremo qualcosa in più.

The Hobbits are a discreet and modest people, loving peace and harmony. Shy, they have very developed hearing and sight, they love to dress in bright colors with a preference for green and yellow. They are basically divided into three breeds: the Hartfoots, the Stoors and the Fallohides.
The low and minute Hartfoots do not wear shoes and do not wear beards, they prefer the mountains to the plains and have a passion for the pipe-weed, a type of leaf that they smoke with the aid of a wooden or clay pipe; among the most prized leaves is the Longbottom Leaf.
To upset the peaceful existence of the Hobbits will be Frodo, who lets himself be convinced by the sorcerer Gandalf to leave for the country of darkness where he will have to throw the ring of power into the flames of Mount Doom, accompanied by Gollum who in reality wants to possess it considering it his treasure .
An exciting epic tale that I am sure many of you also know thanks to the cinematographic transposition of the director Peter Jackson. Famous is the scene where Gollum shouts "My tesssoro!" ;-)
