Trollbeads Magia delle Stelle collezione Natale 2020 - Starlight Christmas Collection




La nuova collezione Trollbeads "Magia delle Stelle" è dedicata alle festività natalizie, evoca cieli stellati, galassie e pianeti e vuole donarci uno sguardo sognante.

L'intento è ambizioso poiché, a colpo d'occhio tra bolle, stelle, goldstone, il ricordo corre subito a quei beads che ho avuto modo di apprezzare in collezioni precedenti e che non avrei immaginato di vedere riproposti dopo così poco tempo, soprattutto riferiti alle stelle dello zodiaco, la cui seconda serie è ancora in collezione.
Questa sarebbe difatti la terza edizione di stelle con pietre preziose dedicata ai segni zodiacali.
Ma tralasciamo un attimo il mio déjà vu e addentriamoci insieme in questa "Magia delle Stelle", potrebbe riservare piacevoli sorprese.

Iniziamo dai beads in argento con pietre preziose.

Come potete vedere in questa fotografia comparativa, l'idea di base è sempre quella di una stella con posizionata al centro una pietra.




In quest'ultima versione, della designer Louise Rimpler, le stelle sono di design minimal e con la pietra leggermente più grande, sempre tonda e liscia.





Nel retro il bead presenta un intarsio a forma di stella. Questo bead ha la possibilità di essere utilizzato per accorciare la collana fantasia o per creare un originale bracciale doppio.








Le pietre prescelte sono le medesime delle edizioni precedenti, destinate ai singoli segni zodiacali.

Ariete "Stella dell'Energia": granato.

Toro "Stella della Gioia": crisoprasio.

Gemelli "Stella dell'Intuizione": occhio di tigre. 

Cancro "Stella della Purezza": perla bianca.  

Leone "Stella del Coraggio": corniola.

Di queste pietre considerate portafortuna, legate ai segni zodiacali, non mi è dato sapere a quali correnti astrologiche si sia ispirata Trollbeads nello sceglierle, poiché corrispondono tutte tranne due segni zodiacali: Scorpione e Pesci che, secondo l'astrologia moderna, non sono rappresentati da perla grigia e perla rosa scelte da Trollbeads.
Le pietre legate ai segni (corrente astrologica moderna), sono le seguenti:

Ariete: granato, corniola, rubino, diaspro rosso, ametista.
Toro: smeraldo, avventurina, crisoprasio, corniola, turchese, ametista.

Qualcuno potrà così ritrovarsi maggiormente in una pietra legata ad altro segno rispetto il proprio e sceglierla liberamente o sceglierla semplicemente per il colore, non andrebbe dimenticato che il gioiello dovrebbe colpirci soprattutto per come è realizzato più che per il significato che la azienda ha voluto conferirgli.

Una curiosità riferita alle pietre zodiacali ed alla cristalloterapia: scegliendo di potenziare caratteristiche del proprio carattere, la pietra da preferire è quella legata al proprio segno, mentre se si ha bisogno di domare alcuni aspetti, andrà scelta una pietra legata al proprio segno opposto.

Ed è proprio ai pianeti che Trollbeads si è ispirata donando nomi e colori al set "Galassia", dei designer Tenzin Phuntosk and Kalden Chophel, composto da sei beads: "Venere", "Saturno", "Nettuno", "Luna", "Giove", "Marte".





Caratteristica comune dei sei beads è quella di avere bolle centrali che girano tutt' intorno e la semitrasparenza, mentre l'effetto glitter è proprietà di soli due beads: Saturno e Nettuno.





Una particolarità, i beads osservati di profilo mostrano che il colore utilizzato è stato disposto a forma di stella e le bolle sono cinque, come le cinque punte della stella. 
Essendo realizzati a mano, non in tutti i beads questo dettaglio risulta così evidente.





"Venere" si presenta in una tonalità in trasparenza di grigioverde chiaro. 









"Saturno" ha un effetto glitter color rame.









"Nettuno" sfumature in blu notte e glitter.









"Luna" bianco latte.










"Giove" si presenta con sfumature ambrate in trasparenza.










"Marte" sfumature calde di rosso.





I vetri possono differire un poco sia per tonalità di colore che per dimensione e profondità delle bolle.
Il colore dei beads, come sempre, cambia a seconda della luce da cui vengono irradiati, che sia naturale, artificiale fredda o calda.

Il set costa €175 mentre i singoli beads costano €35.



Rimanendo in tema "luccichii", niente lo è più delle "goldstone", ossia beads realizzati con il vetro "avventurina", una particolare lavorazione inventata a Murano (Italia) nel 1600 circa, un impasto traslucido al cui interno sono immerse pagliuzze o cristalli di rame che creano l'effetto che imita il quarzo avventurina (varietà di calcedonio con piccole inclusioni che catturano la luce dando vita al fenomeno di "avventurescenza"). Le due tonalità riprodotte da Trollbeads sono, come chiamate in gergo, "avventurina rossa" e "avventurina blu".









"Riflesso del Deserto" (avventurina rossa) e "Riflesso dell'Oceano" (avventurina blu), della designer Lise Aagaard, sono entrambi beads sfaccettati, a simulare la preziosità delle pietre oltre a donare ancor più lucentezza e brillio.
Questi due beads, per chi acquista Trollbeads da diverso tempo, ricorderà senz'altro le precedenti versioni lisce quali "Pietra d'oro" e "Pietra d'Oro Blu".








Il costo cadauno è di €55.



Infine Trollbeads, per quanto riguarda i beads in vetro, ha realizzato due Edizioni Limitate (disponibili, fino ad esaurimento scorte, esclusivamente presso i rivenditori Premium, Premium Plus e Flagship Store) legate al Natale e al Capodanno: "Incanto di Stelle" e "Nuovo Inizio" dei designer Tenzin Phuntosk and Kalden Chophel.





"Incanto di Stelle" riproduce un piccolo firmamento. Sulla base blu e blu notte si sovrappongono l'effetto glitter, micro bollicine, fasci in verde chiaro e cinque murrine bianche a stella in superficie.




Le differenze in questi beads possono essere considerevoli, suggerisco di sceglierli dal vivo o comunque attraverso esaustive fotografie, per valutarne ed ammirarne le differenze.

"Nuovo Inizio" incarna una versione meno brillante del precedente "Cascata di Luci" (collezione Natale 2019) con piccoli guizzi di color azzurro, color albicocca, color verde acqua, a simulare fuochi di artificio.
La base è nera con piccoli tocchi effetto glitter in blu e verde.




Il costo è di €45.







Ora addentriamoci nei beads in argento e nella chiusura.





"Desiderio di Stella", della designer Louise Rimpler, è di fatto una stella a cinque punte intarsiata al centro dalla medesima forma.




Il bead possiede cinque fori ed è così possibile utilizzarlo anche nella collana fantasia.
Ricorda il bead "Stella Polare" della precedente collezione Natale 2019.

Il costo è di €35.







"Legame del Cuore" del designer Kim Buck, di forma circolare, vede riprodotti dei cuori che si avviluppano come nastri, con una incisione al centro che segue il movimento dello stesso.

Il costo è di €35.

Questo bead è stato realizzato anche in oro, "Legame del Cuore, Oro" e costa €390.







"Fede, Speranza e Amore" della designer Louise Rimpler, vede riprodotti i classici simboli, rivisitati, dell'ancora, della croce e del cuore.

Il costo è di €35.







"Cometa dei Desideri", della designer Louise Rimpler, è quello che io chiamo un "abbraccia bead", al suo interno difatti ci si può inserire un bead in vetro o una piccola pietra.
Da quattro delle cinque punte della stella traforata, partono altrettanti fasci a simulare la coda della cometa, formando un arco e, congiungendosi. Il finale della coda gira su se stesso formando un piccolo ricciolo e nell'arco creatosi è possibile inserirvi un bead in vetro o una pietra.

Il costo è di €45.







La "Chiusura Desiderio di Stella", della designer Louise Rimpler, vede una stella a cinque punte adagiarsi sul fianco della chiusura, donandole in questo modo movimento. Dall'altro lato è possibile notare come una delle punte sia divenuta il gancio del moschettone, il quale, pratico, permette una facile e sicura apertura. Dalla finitura lucida.

Il costo è di €65.







L'"Anello Fantasia Desiderio di Stella", della designer Louise Rimpler, ha sulla sommità una stella piatta a cinque punte con incisa al suo interno una stella sempre a cinque punte, dove è possibile, attraverso il perno sottostante, infilarvi un bead in vetro o una pietra. Dalla stella partono tre fasci che formano il gambo dell'anello e si concludono, assotigliandosi, con una piccola stellina. 
L'anello, a mio parere, presenta una criticità che avevo già riscontrato nell'"Anello Fantasia Sirenetta" della scorsa estate, ossia il perno in cui va infilato il bead in vetro o pietra che sia, è troppo sottile e bisogna prestare molta attenzione nel momento in cui si sfila l'anello dal dito, poiché il bead scivola fuori, non resta agganciato al perno.

Il costo è di €115.






Questa collezione, nel suo insieme, trovo abbia un appeal contemporaneo e minimalista, tipico della designer Louise Rimpler che firma gran parte della collezione di argenti.
I vetri piacevoli, senza grandi colpi di scena, fatta esclusione, a mio parere, per "Incanto di Stelle".
Ho notato i vetri esser più piccoli dello standard Trollbeads, lo si nota vedendoli accanto alle pietre sfaccettate; in particolare ho notato che la trasparenza dei beads del set "Galassia" li rende, se possibile, ancora più piccini, il prezzo però è inferiore ai vetri standard in collezione che costano €45, questi costano €35 quindi un poco più piccini ma un poco più piccino anche il prezzo e allora...guardiamo al lato positivo ;-) 






I beads in argento e la chiusura li ho trovati un poco più leggeri rispetto quelli di precedenti collezioni, pur mantenendo una manifattura pregevole.
Parlando di prezzi, li trovo in linea con le ultime collezioni, il solo che non trovo in linea è quello della "Chiusura Desiderio di Stella". Seppur bella ed accattivante come design, rimane più semplice rispetto ad altre della medesima fascia prezzo, come ad esempio "Campo di Fiori" e "Coccinelle", ed essendo anche più leggera non ne giustifico il prezzo di €65.
Del set "Galassia" i beads che prediligo sono "Nettuno", "Giove" e "Marte".




Tra i due beads in Edizione Limitata, senza dubbio scelgo "Incanto di Stelle" e sono molto attratta da entrambe le "goldstone" sfaccettate "Riflesso del Deserto" e "Riflesso dell'Oceano".
Come argenti invece mi piace molto "Legame del Cuore", seppur lo trovi poco in linea con questa collezione.






Tra le stelle dello zodiaco, essendo io del segno del cancro, dovrei scegliere "Stella della Purezza", ossia la versione con perla bianca ma, possedendo già la versione "old" di questo bead, opto per l'ametista "Stella dell'Equilibrio" e la corniola "Stella del Coraggio". 








Il fascino delle stelle e del cielo ha ammaliato tanti artisti, uno su tutti Vincent Van Gogh che, in alcuni suoi famosi dipinti, ha ricreato quei cieli stellati che aveva potuto ammirare in Francia: "Notte Stellata sul Rodano" - "Esterno di caffè, di notte" - "Notte stellata".

Qualche anno fa sono stata in vacanza in Francia e mi sono recata ad Arles, cittadina di Provenza ove Van Gogh ha vissuto per diverso tempo e dove ha dipinto i quadri menzionati.
L'estate, i colori vividi, il cielo terso e complice un percorso da fare a piedi, sul cammino di Vincent, mi hanno portata a provare emozioni molto forti, al limite della commozione, immaginando l'artista assorto nei suoi pensieri, immerso nella luce data dalle stelle e intento a riprodurla sulle sue tele.

Un artista tormentato Van Gogh, nato il 30 marzo 1853, secondogenito rispetto ad un fratello omonimo, nato morto esattamente un anno prima e questa coincidenza di date e morte e vita, di omonimia, concorre ad alimentare i suoi turbamenti. 
La sua infanzia e la sua giovinezza travagliate, segnano le sue opere ed alterna periodi di crisi a periodi di lucidità.
Dal 1880 si dedica prevalentemente alla pittura ed in soli dieci anni realizza alcuni fra i capolavori più famosi d'arte moderna.
La sua vita sembra essere un naufragio, la società (dell'epoca) da' importanza a cose che lui non riesce a soddisfare: farsi una famiglia, provvedere al proprio sostentamento, avere rapporti umani.
In verità lui ci prova.
Si dichiara alla sua innamorata chiedendole la mano.
Dipinge con la speranza di ricavare anche un introito per il proprio sostentamento.
Ambisce a creare una "casa di artisti" e di conseguenza una serie di relazioni d'amicizia e di condivisione dei propri operati attraverso "l'Atelier du Midi", cui avrebbe voluto ne facessero parte Gauguin, Bernard, Seurat e Signac, ad Arles, cittadina del Sud della Francia da lui eletta a luogo ideale della luce.




Ha una visione d'insieme, si sente un anello parte di una catena.
Vuole condividere ciò che vede e ciò che prova, come probabilmente accade a molti di noi: la condivisione, le relazioni, il confronto, per imparare, per crescere, per progredire.
Purtroppo però questo non gli è mai stato riconosciuto.
Paul Gauguin in realtà risponde all'invito di Van Gogh e va ad Arles.
Vivono per qualche mese insieme nella "casa gialla" ma Paul, così razionale, fatica ad andare d'accordo con l'impulsività di Vincent. Uno ama l'ordine e l'altro il caos e ciò si evince anche dai loro dipinti, dove l'uso disciplinato del colore di Gauguin si contrappone alla casualità dell'impasto di colore che crea Van Gogh.
Così Gauguin decide di andarsene.
Quando glielo comunica, Vincent ne rimane scioccato, esterrefatto, strappa così da un giornale che ha sottomano, la frase stampata "l'assassino è scappato" e gliela porge, sottintendendo che Gauguin sia un assassino di sogni e speranze.
Così la sua idea di creare una casa di artisti, svanisce tragicamente lasciando in lui una profonda inquietudine che lo porterà dapprima a ferirsi (tagliandosi il lobo di un orecchio) e poi, tra alti e bassi, a vivere alcuni ricoveri.
Ci prova quindi Vincent, purtroppo però nessuno di questi intenti ha successo.

Così, a fronte di queste mancanze, il suo modo per sopperirvi è la sua stessa arte.
Il mondo gli riserva ostilità, cerca di comprenderlo attraverso il suo sguardo capace di cogliere dettagli della vita quotidiana, delle persone, della natura ma non riesce a dargli il giusto tributo.
A guardarlo con gli occhi di oggi, sembrerebbe semplicemente un animo inquieto e profondamente introspettivo che ha trovato nel dipingere il suo modo per farsi comprendere.
E noi credo lo comprendiamo benissimo perché, ammirando le sue tele, si avverte tutto il pathos, la sofferenza, l'amore, il rispetto che provava. 
Impossibile rimanere indifferenti davanti a "Notte stellata", dove il cielo sembra incantare ed avvolgere chi lo osserva, rimandando ad un senso di nostalgia per tutti i sogni infranti, le luci delle case accese, dove lo immagino aver gettato uno sguardo non senza un briciolo di rimpianto.




Successivamente alcuni astronomi, per la accuratezza di certi dettagli nei dipinti, sono stati in grado di datare i quadri con estrema precisione, di distinguere le costellazioni e di riconoscere, ad esempio, nei due vortici del dipinto "Notte stellata" la coppia di galassie denominate M51A ed M51B, oggetti celesti scoperti dagli astronomi Charles Messier e Pierre Méchain e che successivamente furono osservati dall'astronomo irlandese William Parsons conte di Rosse, che ne fece dei disegni. L'idea è quindi quella che Van Gogh sia venuto a conoscenza degli eventi e abbia visto i disegni di Parsons, che furono pubblicati su riviste e libri dell'epoca, poiché i vortici del pittore sono molto simili a quelli dell'astronomo.
Poco importa però se Vincent abbia o no visto i disegni del conte di Rosse, che importa è che abbia colto la unicità di quel cielo stellato dipingendolo con generosità di tratto e colori.




Le sole cose che hanno saputo dare a Vincent, nella sua travagliata vita, un poco di sollievo, sono due: i colori sulla tela e la corrispondenza col fratello Theo, a cui era molto legato.
Nelle ultime due lettere indirizzate al fratello scrive: "Però, però alcuni quadri un giorno troveranno degli amatori" - "Ebbene, nel mio lavoro ci rischio la vita e la mia ragione vi si è consumata per metà".
Nulla di più profetico.
I suoi quadri non soltanto hanno trovato degli amatori ma godono di valore inestimabile e lui è considerato uno dei più grandi pittori del XIX secolo.
Morì la notte del 29 luglio 1890 a soli 37 anni.
Van Gogh, autore di oltre ottocento dipinti e mille disegni, geniale ed incompreso in vita, dopo la sua morte ha influenzato l'arte del XX secolo.

Oserei dire che ha influenzato un poco anche la mia vita.
Mia nonna Iolanda possedeva una stampa, appesa nel proprio salotto, a riproduzione di un quadro raffigurante un uomo con una benda intorno al volto.
Da piccola, la osservavo sempre in un misto di timore e curiosità.




La curiosità fortunatamente ha prevalso e, in età più adulta, mi ha spinta a cercare notizie su chi avesse dipinto quel volto.
Altro non si trattava che dell' "Autoritratto con capo bendato" di Vincent Van Gogh.
Da allora la passione per l'artista è cresciuta insieme a me e i colori e un po' anche lo spirito di questa nuova collezione "Magia delle Stelle" di Trollbeads, li ho immediatamente accostati ai suoi quadri. Colori vividi e sgargianti, blu notte e firmamento.

Ora però sono curiosa di conoscere le vostre impressioni e cosa vi ha evocato questa collezione dedicata al Natale.

Trollbeads Starlight Christmas collection




The new Trollbeads "Starlight" collection is dedicated to the Christmas holidays, evokes starry skies, galaxies and planets and wants to give us a dreamy look.

And it is precisely to the planets that Trollbeads was inspired by giving names (in the Italian translation) and colors to the "Bubble Joy Kit", by designers Tenzin Phuntosk and Kalden Chophel, composed of six beads: "Misty Bubble Joy", "Shimmer Bubble Joy", "Midnight Bubble Joy", "Frosty Bubble Joy", "Sienna Bubble Joy", "Scarlet Bubble Joy".




A common feature of the six beads is that of having central bubbles that go all around and the semi-transparency, while the glitter effect is the property of only two beads: "Shimmer Bubble Joy" and "Midnight Bubble Joy".





A peculiarity, the beads observed in profile show that the color used has been arranged in the shape of a star and the bubbles are five, like the five points of the star. Beads are handmade and this detail is not so evident in all.




"Misty Bubble Joy" comes in a transparent shade of light gray-green.






"Shimmer Bubble Joy" has a copper-colored glitter effect.














"Midnight Bubble Joy" shades in midnight blue and glitter.






"Frosty Bubble Joy" white moon.






"Sienna Bubble Joy" shows amber shades in transparency.






"Scarlet Bubble Joy" warm shades of red.



The beads glass can differ a little both in color tones and in the size and depth of the bubbles.
The color of the beads, as always, changes according to the light from which they are radiated, whether natural, artificial cold or warm.

The set costs € 175 while the individual beads cost € 35.

Remaining on the "glitter" theme, nothing is more so than "goldstone", that is beads made with "aventurina" glass, a particular process invented in Murano (Italy) around 1600, a translucent mixture inside which specks or crystals are immersed of copper that create the effect that imitates aventurine quartz (variety of chalcedony with small inclusions that capture the light giving life to the phenomenon of "adventurescence"). The two shades reproduced by Trollbeads are, as called in jargon, "red aventurine" and "blue aventurine".









"Faceted Goldstone" (red aventurine) and "Faceted Blue Goldstone" (blue aventurine), by designer Lise Aagaard, are both faceted beads, to simulate the preciousness of the stones as well as giving even more shine and brilliance.





These two beads, for those who have been buying Trollbeads for some time, will certainly remember the previous smooth versions such as "Goldstone" and "Blue Goldstone".

The cost each is € 55.

Finally, Trollbeads, as regards the glass beads, has created two Limited Editions (available, while stocks last, exclusively at the Premium, Premium Plus and Flagship Store retailers) related to Christmas and New Year: "Christmas Wish" and " New Year Celebration "by designers Tenzin Phuntosk and Kalden Chophel.





"Christmas Wish" reproduces a small firmament. On the blue and midnight blue base the glitter effect, micro bubbles, light green beams and five white star-shaped murrine overlap.
The differences in these beads can be considerable, I suggest choosing them live or in any case through exhaustive photographs, to evaluate and admire their differences.
The cost is € 45.






"New Year Celebration" embodies a less brilliant version of the previous "Happy New Year!" (Christmas 2019 collection) with small flashes of blue, apricot, water green, to simulate fireworks.
The base is black with small glitter-effect touches in blue and green.

Now let's go into the silver beads and the lock.



"Lucky Star", by designer Louise Rimpler, is in fact a five-pointed star inlaid in the center of the same shape. The bead has five holes and so it can also be used in the fantasy necklace.
Remember the "Guiding Star" bead of the previous Christmas 2019 collection.

The cost is € 35.

"Connection" by designer Kim Buck, circular in shape, sees reproduced hearts that wrap like ribbons, with an incision in the center that follows the movement of the same.

The cost is € 35.

This bead was also made in gold, "Connection Gold" and costs € 390.

"Faith, Hope and Love" by designer Louise Rimpler, sees reproduced the classic symbols, revisited, of the anchor, the cross and the heart.

The cost is € 35.







"Framed by Stars", by designer Louise Rimpler, is what I call a "hugging bead", in fact you can insert a glass bead or a small stone inside.
From four of the five points of the pierced star, four beams start to simulate the comet's tail, forming an arc and joining. The end of the tail turns on itself forming a small curl and in the arch created it is possible to insert a glass bead or a stone.

The cost is € 45.









The "Lucky Stars Lock", by designer Louise Rimpler, sees a five-pointed star resting on the side of the lock, thus giving it movement. On the other hand, it is possible to see how one of the points has become the hook of the carabiner, which, practical, allows an easy and safe opening. With a glossy finish.

The cost is € 65.



The "Lucky Stars Fantasy Ring", by designer Louise Rimpler, has a flat five-pointed star on the top with a five-pointed star engraved inside it, where it is possible, through the pin below, to insert a glass bead or a stone. Three beams depart from the star that form the stem of the ring and end, tapering, with a small star.
The ring, in my opinion, has a criticality that I had already encountered in the "Mermaid Fantasy Ring" last summer, that is the pin in which the glass bead or stone is inserted, is too thin and you have to pay close attention when the ring is removed from the finger, as the bead slips out, it does not remain attached to the pin.

The cost is € 115.






This collection, as a whole, I find has a contemporary and minimalist appeal, typical of the designer Louise Rimpler who signs a large part of the silver collection.
The pleasant glass, without major twists, except, in my opinion, for "Christmas Wish".
I noticed the glasses being smaller than the standard Trollbeads, you can see this by seeing them next to the faceted stones; in particular, I noticed that the transparency of the "Bubble Joy Kit" set beads makes them, if possible, even smaller, but the price is lower than the standard glass beads in the collection which cost € 45, these cost € 35 so a little smaller but a little more even the price is small and then ... let's look at the positive side ;-)







I found the silver beads and the lock a little lighter than those of previous collections, while maintaining a fine craftsmanship.
Speaking of prices, I find them in line with the latest collections, the only one I don't find online is that of "Lucky Stars Lock". Although beautiful and captivating as a design, it remains simpler than others in the same price range, such as "Lush Meadow Lock" and "Ladybugs Lock", and being even lighter I do not justify the price of € 65.






From the "Bubble Joy Kit", my favorite beads are "Midnight Bubble Joy", "Sienna Bubble Joy" and "Scarlet Bubble Joy".
Between the two Limited Edition beads, I undoubtedly choose "Christmas Wish" and I am very attracted to both the "Faceted Golstone" and "Faceted Blue Goldstone".
As silver, however, I really like "Connection", even if I find it not very much in line with this collection.
Among the stars of the zodiac, since I belong to the sign of Cancer, I should choose "Cancer Star", that is the version with a white pearl but, since I already own the "old" version of this bead, I opt for the "Libra Star" amethyst and the carnelian "Leo Star".








The charm of the stars and the sky has captivated many artists, one above all Vincent Van Gogh who, in some of his famous paintings, has recreated those starry skies that he had been able to admire in France: "Starry Night Over the Rhône" - "Café Terrace at Night "-" The Starry night ".

A few years ago I was on vacation in France and went to Arles, a town in Provence where Van Gogh lived for some time and where he painted the aforementioned paintings.
The summer, the vivid colors, the clear sky and thanks to a path to be covered on foot, on Vincent's path, led me to experience very strong emotions, on the verge of emotion, imagining the artist absorbed in his thoughts, immersed in light given by the stars and intent on reproducing it on his canvases.

A tormented artist Van Gogh, born on March 30, 1853, second son to a brother of the same name, who died exactly a year earlier and this coincidence of dates and death and life, of homonymy, contributes to fuel his disturbances.
His troubled childhood and youth mark his works and alternate periods of crisis with periods of lucidity.



From 1880 he devoted himself mainly to painting and in just ten years he created some of the most famous masterpieces of modern art.
His life seems to be a shipwreck, the society (of the time) gives importance to things that he is unable to satisfy: having a family, providing for his own sustenance, having human relationships.
In truth he tries.
He declares himself to his sweetheart asking for her hand.
He paints with the hope of obtaining an income for his own sustenance.
He aspires to create a "house of artists" and consequently a series of relationships of friendship and sharing of his works through "the Atelier du Midi", which he would have liked Gauguin, Bernard, Seurat and Signac to belong to, in Arles , a town in the South of France which he chose as the ideal place for light.
He has an overview, he feels a link part of a chain.
He wants to share what he sees and what he feels, as probably happens to many of us: sharing, relationships, comparing, to learn, to grow, to progress.
Unfortunately, however, this was never recognized.
Paul Gauguin actually responds to Van Gogh's invitation and goes to Arles.
They live for a few months together in the "yellow house" but Paul, so rational, struggles to get along with Vincent's impulsiveness. One loves order and the other chaos and this is also evident from their paintings, where Gauguin's disciplined use of color contrasts with the randomness of the color mixture created by Van Gogh.
So Gauguin decides to leave.
When he tells him, Vincent is shocked, astonished, so he tears from a newspaper he has at hand, the printed phrase "the killer has escaped" and hands it to him, implying that Gauguin is a killer of dreams and hopes.
Thus his idea of ​​creating a house of artists tragically vanishes, leaving him with a profound restlessness that will lead him first to injure himself (cutting his earlobe) and then, between ups and downs, to experience some hospitalizations.
So Vincent tries, but unfortunately none of these intentions are successful.



Thus, in the face of these shortcomings, his way to compensate for them is his own art.
The world holds hostility to him, tries to understand him through his gaze capable of grasping details of daily life, of people, of nature but fails to give him the right tribute.
Looking at him with today's eyes, it would simply seem a restless and deeply introspective soul that has found in painting his way to make himself understood.
And I think we understand this very well because, admiring his paintings, you can feel all the pathos, the suffering, the love, the respect he felt.
Impossible to remain indifferent in front of "Starry Night", where the sky seems to enchant and envelop those who observe it, referring to a sense of nostalgia for all the broken dreams, the lights of the houses on, where I imagine him having glanced not without an iota of regret.




Subsequently some astronomers, due to the accuracy of certain details in the paintings, were able to date the paintings with precision, to distinguish the constellations and to recognize, for example, in the two vortices of the painting "The Starry Night" the pair of galaxies called M51A and M51B , celestial objects discovered by the astronomers Charles Messier and Pierre Méchain and which were subsequently observed by the Irish astronomer William Parsons Earl of Rosse, who made drawings of them. The idea is therefore that Van Gogh became aware of the events and saw Parsons' drawings, which were published in magazines and books of the time, since the painter's vortexes are very similar to those of the astronomer.
It matters little, however, whether or not Vincent saw the drawings of the Earl of Rosse, what matters is that he grasped the uniqueness of that starry sky by painting it with generosity of strokes and colors.




The only things that have been able to give Vincent, in his troubled life, a little relief, are two: the colors on the canvas and the correspondence with his brother Theo, to whom he was very attached.
In the last two letters addressed to his brother he writes: "However, some paintings will one day find amateurs" - "Well, in my work I risk my life and my reason is half consumed".
Nothing more prophetic.
His paintings have not only found admirers but are of inestimable value and he is considered one of the greatest painters of the 19th century.
He died on the night of July 29, 1890 at the age of only 37.
Van Gogh, author of over eight hundred paintings and a thousand drawings, brilliant and misunderstood in life, influenced the art of the twentieth century after his death.







I dare say that it has also affected my life a little.
My grandmother Iolanda had a print, hanging in her living room, reproducing a painting depicting a man with a bandage around his face.
As a child, I always observed her in a mixture of fear and curiosity.
Fortunately curiosity prevailed and, as an adult, pushed me to look for information on who had painted that face.
It was none other than Vincent Van Gogh's "Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear".
Since then the passion for the artist has grown with me and the colors and the spirit of this new "Starlight" collection by Trollbeads, I immediately combined them with his paintings. Vivid and gaudy colors, midnight blue and firmament.
