Trollbeads Fiaba d’Inverno, recensione del nuovo bracciale start - Trollbeads Poinsettia Wish Bracelet, review of the new start bracelet

  

Ed eccomi di nuovo qui con una recensione che riguarda Trollbeads, l’azienda danese che negli ultimi mesi ha deciso di tentarci in modo assiduo con le sue proposte.

Questa è la volta di uno start speciale in Edizione Limitata dedicato al Natale: Fiaba d’Inverno del Trollbeads Design Group.

Lo start, per chi non lo sapesse, si compone di un bracciale a coda di volpe, un bead in vetro, uno in argento ed una chiusura, venduto ad un prezzo promozionale rispetto l’acquisto dei singoli componenti.

Pensato per il Natale e magari anche per un dono, il bracciale è stato arricchito da un pendente in argento.

Andiamo dunque a scoprire i singoli componenti.

La chiusura in argento, che già a prima vista si presenta ricca, con i classici due moschettoni contrapposti, è sormontata da un lato da un fiore che sembra essere una Stella Alpina, che con i suoi petali la avvolge come in un abbraccio.

L’altro lato della chiusura presenta invece una incisione che prosegue intorno ad entrambi i moschettoni ed una piccola foglia applicata.

Robusta e d’impatto, questa chiusura va ad aggiungersi alla serie di floreali esistenti.

Ritengo sia molto bella, anche da sola arricchisce il bracciale e il dettaglio dei petali che scendono in un abbraccio lo trovo eseguito in modo pregevole.

Il bracciale è a maglia morbida in argento, detto anche a "coda di volpe", la cui misura sarà possibile scegliere in base alle proprie esigenze, tenendo conto che la lunghezza è comprensiva di cm. 2 della chiusura; ad esempio chi ha un polso di cm. 18 acquisterà un bracciale di cm. 18 "virtuali". Perché virtuali? Perché il bracciale in realtà sarà lungo cm.16 a cui si aggiungono i cm. 2 virtuali della chiusura.

Il meccanismo può sembrare un poco contorto per chi è alle prime armi, ma i rivenditori sono più che informati per spiegarvi e consigliarvi al meglio quale misura acquistare.

Il bead in vetro ha base in avventurina ramata a cui si sovrappone in trasparenza il rosso vermiglio,  e vetro di copertura sfaccettato trasparente.

La somma dei due colori dona vita ad una tonalità di rosso che ricorda il carminio, molto intenso, si potrebbe quasi dire “rosso sangue”; l’aspetto glitter enfatizzato dalla sfaccettatura, che cambia a seconda della luce da cui viene irradiato, sia essa calda o fredda, artificiale o naturale, rende il colore del bead dinamico.

La medesima lavorazione possiamo trovarla nel bead “Amore” edizione limitata per San Valentino 2021 e nel bead “Splendore”, altra edizione limitata per il Black Friday 2019. 

Mi piace molto questo bead, i riflessi che emana, il colore, direi perfetto per rappresentare un bracciale dedicato al Natale o tutto ciò che ci lega ad una passione, poiché il rosso è colore passionale per eccellenza, un colore forte che, come tutte le cose di carattere, lo si ama o lo si odia, senza mezze misure.

Riguardo le caratteristiche dei beads in vetro, va ricordato che possono presentare delle differenze in dimensioni e colore e che tali diversità sono da considerarsi un pregio e non un difetto, poiché vengono realizzati a mano.

Luce naturale in ambiente

Questo bead in particolare ha delle varietà legate al colore che, osservato attentamente, risulta essere un po' più scuro o un poco più chiaro, lasciando intravedere, in alcuni casi, la trasparenza del vetro di copertura, mentre in altri risulta completamente rosso visto di profilo. Anche la luce, naturale o artificiale, muta l'aspetto del bead.

Il bead in argento di forma tondeggiante, si presenta come avesse due lati, da una parte il fiore della Poinsettia con le tipiche nervature incise, dall’altra un cuore traforato che lascia intravedere il bracciale inserito, con motivi decorativi a ricciolo incisi.

Di dimensioni medio piccole, può ricordare una pallina di Natale.

Il pendente in argento, è una stella traforata che contiene un cuore, anch’esso traforato. Una anella poi permette di infilarlo al bracciale.

Lo spessore è di circa 2 mm. e la dimensione di circa 13 mm., si può quindi considerare un pendente di medie dimensioni.

Trollbeads non è solita avere nelle proprie collezioni i pendenti, quindi questa sembra essere più una influenza Thun che invece, a differenza, ne ha svariati al suo attivo.

Pendenti Thun e Trollbeads a confronto

In alcuni paesi il bracciale è stato proposto in due versioni: senza pendente e con pendente, ossia “Poinsettia Bracelet” e “Poinsettia Wish Bracelet”, con relativa differenza di prezzo, €119 per il primo ed €149 per il secondo.

Il pendente, nominato “Heart in Star Tassel”, è qualcosa in più che io interpreto come un decoro dell’albero di Natale, dove possiamo trovare varie forme, non soltanto le sferiche palline.

Per  gli appassionati ed i collezionisti Trollbeads, a differenza di Pandora, va tenuto conto non sia facile indossare un pendente che tende a modificare l’armonia dei classici beads, non a caso per alcuni mercati è stato predisposto un “doppio” bracciale con possibilità di scelta.

Nonostante ciò, tra le due proposte, osservando che la differenza di prezzo non è elevata, darei preferenza al bracciale completo di pendente, poiché se proprio non dovesse piacere inserito nel bracciale, può risultare grazioso indossato al collo, così da creare una sorta di parure.

In Italia Fiaba d’Inverno è venduto completo al costo di €149.

Nell’insieme ritengo Fiaba d’Inverno un bracciale start che possa donare soddisfazione nell’indossarlo, soprattutto per chi, come me, ama il rosso in tutte le sue tonalità, oltre ad essere perfetto per il periodo natalizio.

A feste finite il bead in vetro potrà essere utilizzato in altre composizioni, anche il pendente che si completa di due simboli universali quali il cuore e la stella adattabili a qualsiasi tema. Il bead in argento invece, avendo rappresentata la poinsettia che rimanda inevitabilmente al Natale, essendo il fiore eletto per la ricorrenza, corre il rischio di rimanere nel portagioie, anche se, chi ama i fiori, credo non faccia distinzioni di tale genere. 

Una curiosità legata a questa pianta originaria del Messico, il cui nome botanico è Euphorbia pulcherrima, riguarda proprio il nome che le è stato assegnato al momento della sua prima catalogazione, ossia Poinsettia, poiché non pensando si trattasse di un esemplare della famiglia delle euforbie, le venne dato quello dell’allora Ambasciatore americano in Messico, Joel Roberts Poinsett, che portò i semi in America nel 1825.

E proprio come in una fiaba d’inverno, troviamo la poinsettia protagonista non soltanto del bracciale Trollbeads ma anche del primo capitolo tratto dal libro “Il tredicesimo dono” di Joanne Huist Smith, tradotto da Elisa Ferrario.

Vi state domandando quindi se il libro è tratto da una storia vera?

Sì, lo è.

Joanne ha tre figli e una mattina di dicembre, precisamente il 13, esce di casa trafelata, è in ritardo per accompagnarli a scuola ed inevitabilmente in ritardo al lavoro. Nella fretta, non si accorge che sulla soglia di casa c'è un dono, che quasi calpesta.

Un dono?

Sì, un dono. Una poinsettia per l'esattezza, accompagnata da un bigliettino che recita così: "Il primo giorno, aspettando Natale, dai vostri veri amici ricevete una poinsettia in dono".

Da quel giorno, come potrete facilmente immaginare, per tredici giorni consecutivi Joanne riceverà tredici doni.

Tredici doni che la accompagneranno, insieme ai suoi figli, verso il Natale. Un Natale che Joanne non vorrebbe festeggiare perché Rick, marito e padre, non c'è più, è morto.

Inizialmente i doni la infastidiscono.

Tutto la infastidisce.

Poi qualcosa accade ed i suoi pensieri prendono un'altra direzione.

I doni presto divengono uno sprone e Joanne, insieme ai suoi tre figli, cercherà in ogni modo di scoprire chi si cela dietro tutto questo.

Se c'è una morale ne "Il tredicesimo dono", scritto da una donna che ha sofferto, senza dubbio è quella che la vita toglie e la vita dà.

Nulla ti aspetti e temi di avere toccato il fondo ed è proprio in quel momento che accade l'impensabile.

Vi è mai capitato che qualcuno compia un gesto gentile nei vostri confronti, lasciandovi in un piacevole stupore? 

A me è capitato e, quando ho potuto, ho ricambiato il gesto verso un’altra persona che ritenevo avesse bisogno, un po' come riverberare nel tempo il bello ed il positivo che abbiamo intorno.

Se vi incuriosisce sapere Joanne cosa farà alla fine, non vi resta che leggere il libro ;-)

Trollbeads Poinsettia Wish Bracelet, review of the new start bracelet 

And here I am again with a review regarding Trollbeads, the Danish company that in recent months has decided to tempt us assiduously with its proposals.

This is the turn of a special Limited Edition start dedicated to Christmas: Poinsettia Wish Bracelet by designer Trollbeads Design Group.

The start, for the uninitiated, consists of a foxtail bracelet, a glass bead, a silver one and a lock, sold at a promotional price compared to the purchase of the individual components.

Designed for Christmas and perhaps even as a gift, the bracelet has been enriched with a silver tassel.

So let's go and discover the individual components.

The silver lock, which at first glance is rich, with the classic two opposing carabiners, is surmounted on one side by a flower that seems to be an Edelweiss, which envelops it with its petals as in an embrace.

The other side of the lock instead has an incision that continues around both carabiners and a small applied leaf.

Strong and impactful, this lock adds to the existing floral series.

I find this lock very beautiful, even alone it enriches the bracelet and the detail of the petals that descend in an embrace I think it is executed in a valuable way.

The bracelet is in soft silver mesh, also called "fox tail", the size of which can be chosen according to your needs, taking into account that the length is cm. 2 of the lock; for example those who have a wrist of cm. 18 will purchase a bracelet of cm. 18 "virtual". Why virtual? Because the bracelet will actually be 16 cm long to which the cm. 2 virtual lock.

The mechanism may seem a little convoluted for beginners, but the retailers are more than knowledgeable to explain and advise you which size to buy.

The glass bead has a copper aventurine base on which vermilion red is transparently overlaid, and a transparent faceted cover glass.

The sum of the two colors gives life to a shade of red reminiscent of carmine, very intense, one could almost say "blood red"; the glitter aspect emphasized by the facet, which changes according to the light from which it is radiated, be it hot or cold, artificial or natural, makes the color of the bead dynamic.

The same processing can be found in the limited edition “I “Love You” bead for Valentine's Day 2021 and in the “Sense of Shimmer” bead, another limited edition for Black Friday 2019.

I really like this bead, the reflections it emanates, the color, I would say perfect to represent a bracelet dedicated to Christmas or anything that binds us to a passion, since red is the passionate color par excellence, a strong color that, like all things of character, you love it or hate it, without half measures.

Regarding the characteristics of the glass beads, it should be remembered that they can have differences in size and color and that these differences are to be considered a value and not a defect, as they are made by hand.

Daylight outdoors

This bead in particular has varieties related to the color which, observed carefully, turns out to be a little darker or a little lighter, revealing, in some cases, the transparency of the cover glass, while in others it is completely red seen in profile. Even natural or artificial light changes the appearance of the bead.

The round-shaped silver bead appears as if it had two sides, in one the poinsettia flower with the typical engraved ribs, in the other a pierced heart that reveals the inserted bracelet, with engraved decorative curl motifs.

Small to medium in size, it can be reminiscent of a Christmas ball.

The silver tassel is a pierced star that contains a heart, also pierced. A ring then allows you to put it on the bracelet.

The thickness is about 2 mm. and the size of about 13 mm., it can therefore be considered a medium-sized tassel.

Trollbeads doesn't usually have tassels in their collections, so this seems to be more of a Thun influence than, unlike, has several to its credit.

In some countries the bracelet has been proposed in two versions: without tassel and with tassel, ie “Poinsettia Bracelet” and “Poinsettia Wish Bracelet”, with relative price difference, € 119 for the first and € 149 for the second.

The tassel, named "Heart in Star Tassel", is something more that I interpret as a Christmas tree decoration, where we can find various shapes, not just spherical balls.

For Trollbeads enthusiasts and collectors, unlike Pandora, it should be taken into account that it is not easy to wear a pendant that tends to modify the harmony of the classic beads, it is no coincidence that a “double” bracelet with the possibility of choosing has been prepared for some markets.

Despite this, between the two proposals, observing that the price difference is not high, I would give preference to the bracelet complete with tassel, since if you really don't like it inserted in the bracelet, it can be pretty worn around the neck, so as to create a sort of set.

In Italy, Fiaba d’Inverno (Poinsettia Wish Bracelet) is sold complete at a cost of € 149.

Overall, I consider the Poinsettia Wish Bracelet to be a start bracelet that can give satisfaction in wearing it, especially for those who, like me, love red in all its shades, as well as being perfect for the Christmas period.

When the parties are over, the glass bead can be used in other compositions, even the pendant which is completed with two universal symbols such as the heart and the star that can be adapted to any theme. The silver bead instead, having represented the poinsettia that inevitably refers to Christmas, being the flower chosen for the anniversary, it run the risk of remaining in the jewelry box, even if those who love flowers do not make such distinctions.

A curiosity related to this plant native to Mexico, whose botanical name is Euphorbia pulcherrima, concerns precisely the name that was assigned to it at the time of its first cataloging, namely Poinsettia, since not thinking it was a specimen of the euphorbia family, she was given that of the then American Ambassador to Mexico, Joel Roberts Poinsett, who brought the seeds to America in 1825.

And just like in a winter fairy tale, we find the poinsettia protagonist not only of the Trollbeads bracelet but also of the first chapter taken from the book "The 13th Gift" by Joanne Huist Smith.

So are you wondering if the book is based on a true story?

Yes it is.

Joanne has three children and one December morning, precisely on the 13th, she leaves the house out of breath, she is late to accompany them to school and inevitably late for work. In her haste, she does not notice that there is a gift on the doorstep, which she almost tramples on.

A gift?

Yes, a gift. A poinsettia to be exact, accompanied by a note that reads: "On the first day of Christmas your true friends give to you one Poinsettia for all of you”.

From that day, as you can easily imagine, for thirteen consecutive days Joanne will receive thirteen gifts.

Thirteen gifts that will accompany her, together with her children, towards Christmas. A Christmas that Joanne would not want to celebrate because Rick, husband and father, is gone, he is dead.

The gifts initially annoy her.

Everything bothers her.

Then something happens and her thoughts take another direction.

The gifts soon become a spur and Joanne, along with her three children, will try in every way to find out who is behind all this.

If there is a moral in "The 13th Gift", written by a woman who has suffered, it is undoubtedly the one that life takes and life gives.

You expect nothing and fear that you have hit rock bottom and it is precisely at that moment that the unthinkable happens.

Has it ever happened to you that someone makes a kind gesture towards you, leaving you in pleasant amazement?

It happened to me and, when I was able, I reciprocated the gesture towards another person who I thought was in need, a bit like reverberating over time the beauty and the positive that we have around us.

If you are curious to know what Joanne will do in the end, you just have to read the book ;-)
