Trollbeads e Pan di Stelle

Per spiegare questa avventura, va fatto un passo indietro nel passato, dove tutto ebbe inizio con Barilla, storico marchio di pasta di semola nato in Emilia Romagna, la mia regione, precisamente a Parma nel 1877 e ancora oggi di proprietà della famiglia che lo ha fondato, conosciuto ormai in tutto il mondo.

L’azienda negli anni ha poi diversificato i suoi prodotti introducendo linee per la prima colazione, merende e snack a marchio Mulino Bianco.

Pan di Stelle nasce nel 1983, un biscotto al cioccolato, rotondo, ricoperto da 11 stelle di bianca glassa e piccoli cristalli di zucchero.

Tipico biscotto da colazione all’italiana del brand Mulino Bianco, nel 2007 inizia la sua carriera come marchio “solista” e lo fa con il lancio di torte e merendine.

Ad oggi Pan di Stelle annovera tra i suoi prodotti anche la crema spalmabile alla nocciola e cacao con granella, i cereali, il biscocrema, il mooncake e il gelato.

Il biscotto è il prodotto di punta e ogni anno a Natale creano una confezione con una grafica natalizia ed i biscotti a forma di renna, stella, omino di pan di zenzero, con un foro in apice così da poterli anche appendere all’albero di Natale come decorazioni.

Il classico biscotto rotondo con le 11 stelline è tra i più imitati, si trovano infatti in commercio tante confezioni di biscotti simili a marchio della catena di grande distribuzione, discount compresi.

Mulino Bianco infatti è un colosso in tema di biscotti da prima colazione, conosciuto e distribuito in tutto il mondo.

L’idea di ampliare la propria gamma di oggettistica con un gioiello componibile, può sembrare bizzarra agli occhi dei collezionisti Trollbeads, eppure il bracciale ha una doppia allure inconfondibile, sia per chi ama il biscotto, sia per chi ama il brand danese.

Trollbeads ormai è avvezza alle collaborazioni e questa in ordine temporale è la seconda, la prima è stata con Thun, l’azienda altoatesina di ceramiche e complementi per la casa.

Ormai abbiamo già visto ed acquistato svariate collezioni Thun by Trollbeads ed ora è la volta di una collaborazione “golosa”.

Vi immaginate di trovare sotto l’albero una confezione di biscotti, magari personalizzata, e il bracciale Pan di Stelle? Riuscite ad immaginare qualcosa di più dolce? ;-)

Ma ora andiamo a scoprire nel dettaglio il bracciale start ed i singoli beads che lo compongono.

Pan di Stelle si compone del bracciale in argento a coda di volpe, di una chiusura in argento, di un bead in vetro e di un pendente in argento.

Chiusura Pan di Stelle rappresenta la superficie del biscotto con le sue 11 stelline in rilievo e la martellatura dona l’aspetto dei granelli di zucchero. In alcuni punti sono presenti delle impronte di morsi, a ricordare che il biscotto si lascia mangiare con golosità.

Il motto: “Esprimi i tuoi desideri”.

Pendente Biscotto Pan di Stelle rappresenta in modo abbastanza fedele, il tondo biscotto con le sue undici stelline, anch’esso come la chiusura con l’effetto martellato.

Il motto: “Undici stelle per rendere magica la notte”.

Il bead in vetro Pan di Stelle è di colore marrone denso ed al suo interno contiene le famigerate undici stelline in bianco a murrina.

Il motto: “Le stelle più brillanti della notte, da portare sempre con te”. 

Il costo dello start Pan di Stelle è di €99 e non è vendibile separatamente.

Il motto: “Indossa sempre la magia Pan di Stelle e rendi unica la tua storia”.

Ma non finisce qui, difatti la collezione si compone anche di altri due beads e una chiusura: Diamante al Cacao, Renna Cometa e Chiusura Polvere di Stelle.

Diamante al Cacao ricalca la ormai nota di serie di beads Trollbeads con gli zirconi cubici che, in questo caso, sono undici e non tredici come gli altri prodotti, poiché rappresentano le undici stelle di zucchero presenti sui biscotti. La tonalità di marrone ricorda il Terra di Siena Bruciata, un colore caldo e vibrante. Essendo realizzati a mano è facile trovare differenze di colore, più chiaro o più scuro.

Questa è la caratteristica di tutti i vetri realizzati da Trollbeads, pregio di una lavorazione manuale.

Il motto: “Una distesa di cacao ricoperta da cristalli di zucchero per un tocco di magia in più”.

Il costo è di €65.

Renna Cometa, in argento, riproduce fedelmente le fattezze della famosa renna mascotte della linea Pan di Stelle, con una stella a incorniciare l’occhio destro ed una sul petto. Nella parte posteriore una serie di stelle disposte ad arco, creano lo spazio per potere infilare il bracciale.

Il motto: “Non smettere mai di sognare”.

Il costo è di €45.

Chiusura Polvere di Stelle, in argento, vede riprodotte in rilievo undici stelle di varie dimensioni, a rivestire la chiusura con i classici due moschettoni contrapposti. Robusta e pratica, per i collezionisti Trollbeads diventa una alternativa alla chiusura Desiderio di Stella.

Il motto: “11 stelle per realizzare i tuoi sogni”.

Il costo è di €65.

Nell’insieme la collezione è accattivante, notiamo sempre più spesso farsi strada i pendenti negli start e questa è una sorta di novità per Trollbeads che solitamente predilige i classici beads.

C’è però una pecca che ho notato e riguarda la chiusura dello start Pan di Stelle. Il moschettone più piccolo, quello dove va infilata la piccola anella del bracciale, risulta essere più spesso del solito e per questo l’anella del bracciale fatica ad entrare e rimane come bloccata, non allineata.

Questo reputo sia un difetto rilevante a cui sì, si può ovviare allargando un poco l’anellina del bracciale, ma non più di tanto altrimenti non si riescono ad inserire i beads in vetro che hanno un foro, dato dal rivetto in argento, di diametro fisso.

Della mini collezione Pan di Stelle il mio favorito è Diamante al Cacao, con il suo colore deciso, caldo e avvolgente, rimanda al biscotto o ad una buona tazza di cioccolata calda, che in questo freddo inverno risulta essere un balsamo non solo per la gola ma anche per l’anima. 

C’è una domanda che molti si fanno, me compresa: perché undici stelle sui biscotti? Da notare che sono state registrate dall’azienda, quindi nessun altro può riprodurre sui propri biscotti undici stelle, deve perciò avere una certa rilevanza per Mulino Bianco, che però mantiene il riserbo.

Così si fanno strada le ipotesi più disparate, chi dice che corrispondano alle undici lettere del nome Pan di Stelle, chi convinto siano le rappresentazione delle costellazioni Gran Carro e Piccolo Carro e chi sia un numero casuale trovato nel disporre le stelline sulla superficie del biscotto.

Poco importa, alla fine il biscotto si mangia senza avere il tempo di pensare al come ed al perché ;-)

La mia recensione è uscita nettamente in ritardo rispetto la data di lancio della mini collezione, e di questo mi scuso con chi mi segue abitualmente.

Principalmente la motivazione è stata causata dal fatto che non tutti i rivenditori Trollbeads hanno ricevuto in tempo la intera collezione, tanto è vero che ancora oggi alcuni beads risultano non disponibili, in attesa quindi di ricevere il riordino.

Io stessa per le fotografie ho dovuto attendere due settimane, realizzandole in due tempi differenti proprio perché mancavano Renna Cometa, Diamante al Cacao e Chiusura Polvere di Stelle. 

Questo purtroppo è andato a discapito di alcuni rivenditori che hanno faticato ad accontentare la propria clientela.

Credo vada segnalato affinché in futuro Trollbeads si premuri di fare avere a tutti la collezione completa nel giorno prestabilito del lancio ufficiale.

Ormai siamo alle porte della nuova collezione primavera, uscita prevista per il 21 gennaio.

Trollbeads and Pan di Stelle

To explain this adventure, we need to take a step back into the past, where it all began with Barilla, the historic brand of semolina pasta born in Emilia Romagna, my region, precisely in Parma, in 1877 and still today owned by the family that he founded, now known all over the world.

Over the years, the company has diversified its products by introducing lines for breakfast and snacks under the Mulino Bianco brand.

Pan di Stelle was born in 1983, a round chocolate biscuit covered with 11 white icing stars and small sugar crystals.

Typical Italian breakfast biscuit, from the Mulino Bianco brand, in 2007 he began his career as a "solo" brand and did so with the launch of cakes and snacks.

To date, Pan di Stelle also includes among its products the hazelnut and cocoa spread with grains, cereals, biscuit cream, mooncake and ice cream.

The biscuit is the flagship product and every year at Christmas they create a package with a Christmas graphic and cookies in the shape of a reindeer, star, ginger bread man, with a hole in the apex so that they can also be hung on the Christmas tree as decorations. 

The classic round biscuit with the 11 stars is among the most imitated, in fact there are many packages of similar biscuits on the market of the large-scale distribution chain, including discount stores.

In fact, Mulino Bianco is a giant in terms of breakfast biscuits, known and distributed all over the world.

The idea of expanding its range of objects with a modular jewel may seem bizarre to the eyes of Trollbeads collectors, yet the bracelet has an unmistakable double allure, both for those who love biscuits and for those who love the Danish brand.

Trollbeads is now used to collaborations and this is the second in chronological order, the first was with Thun, the South Tyrolean ceramics and home accessories company.

By now we have already seen and purchased several Thun by Trollbeads collections and now it is the turn of a “greedy” collaboration.

Can you imagine finding a package of biscuits, perhaps personalized, and the Pan di Stelle bracelet under the tree? Can you imagine anything sweeter? ;-)

But now let's go and discover in detail the start bracelet and the single beads that make it up.

Pan di Stelle is made up of a silver foxtail bracelet, a silver lock, a glass bead and a silver pendant.

Pan di Stelle lock represents the surface of the biscuit with its 11 stars in relief and the hammering gives the appearance of sugar grains. In some places there are bite marks, to remind you that the biscuit can be eaten with greed.

The motto: "Make your wishes".

Pan di Stelle Biscuit Pendant fairly faithfully represents the round biscuit with its eleven stars, also like the lock with the hammered effect.

The motto: "Eleven stars to make the night magical".

The Pan di Stelle glass bead is dense brown and inside it contains the infamous eleven stars in white murrina.

The motto: "The brightest stars of the night, to always carry with you".

The cost of the Pan di Stelle start is € 99 and cannot be sold separately.

The motto: "Always wear the magic Pan di Stelle and make your story unique".

But it does not end there, in fact the collection also consists of two other beads and a lock: Cocoa Diamond, Comet Reindeer and Stardust Lock.

Diamante al Cacao (Cocoa Diamond) follows the well-known series of Trollbeads beads with cubic zircons which, in this case, are eleven and not thirteen like the other products, since they represent the eleven sugar stars present on the cookies. The shade of brown is reminiscent of Burnt Sienna, a warm and vibrant color. Being handmade it is easy to find color differences, lighter or darker. This is the characteristic of all glasses made by Trollbeads, the merit of manual processing.

The motto: “An expanse of cocoa covered with sugar crystals for an extra touch of magic”.

The cost is € 65.

Renna Cometa (Reindeer Comet), in silver, faithfully reproduces the features of the famous reindeer mascot of the Pan di Stelle line, with a star framing the right eye and one on the chest. In the back, a series of stars arranged in an arc, create the space to be able to put on the bracelet.

The motto: "Never stop dreaming".

The cost is € 45.

Chiusura Polvere di Stelle (Stardust Lock), in silver, sees eleven stars of various sizes reproduced in relief, to cover the lock with the classic two opposing carabiners. Robust and practical, for collectors Trollbeads becomes an alternative to the Lucky Stars lock.

The motto: "11 stars to make your dreams come true".

The cost is € 65.

Overall, the collection is captivating, we see pendants making their way more and more often in starts and this is a sort of novelty for Trollbeads which usually prefers classic beads.

However, there is a flaw that I noticed and concerns the lock of the Pan di Stelle start. The smaller carabiner, the one where the small ring of the bracelet is inserted, is thicker than usual and for this reason the ring of the bracelet struggles to enter and remains blocked, not aligned. I believe this is a significant defect which, yes, it can be remedied by widening the ring of the bracelet a little, but not too much otherwise it is not possible to insert the glass beads that have a hole, given by the silver rivet, in diameter fixed.

From the Pan di Stelle mini collection, my favorite is Diamante al Cacao, with its strong, warm and enveloping color, it refers to biscuits or a good cup of hot chocolate, which in this cold winter turns out to be a balm not only for the throat but also for the soul.

There is a question that many people ask themselves, including myself: why eleven stars on cookies? It should be noted that they have been recorded by the company, so no one else can reproduce eleven stars on their cookies, so it must have a certain relevance for Mulino Bianco, which however maintains confidentiality.

Thus the most disparate hypotheses make their way, those who say that they correspond to the eleven letters of the name Pan di Stelle, those who are convinced they are the representations of the constellations Big Dipper and Little Dipper and who is a random number found in arranging the stars on the surface of the biscuit.

It doesn't matter, in the end the biscuit is eaten without having time to think about how and why ;-)

Ingredients:

(This is enough to make 2 layers, if you want to make it 3 or 4 layers then just buy more cookies)

- 1 Bag of Pan Di Stelle Cookies (you can find them in the Italian store)

- 1 Regular Size Jar of Nutella (about 400 grams)

- 1 Cup of already Brewed Espresso (also instant Espresso would be fine)

- 1/2 cup of Regular Milk 

- 2 Cups of Cold Heavy Cream

- 1/2 Cup of Powdered Sugar

- Unsweetened Cocoa Powder for Dusting

Materials you will need:

- 8 inch Spring Form Pan, a fork, a spoon, and a sifter

Procedure:

- First make the Whipped Cream by Whisking the Heavy Cream and Powdered Sugar with a hand blender or the whisk attachment on you KitchenAide Mixer until thick (High Speed).

- Once the whipped Cream is done, put it in the refrigerator to stay cold until you are ready to use it.  

- In a small bowl, mix the brewed Espresso and the Regular milk together and set aside.

- Put the Nutella in a glass bowl and microwave for 30 seconds to soften it up.  

- Now we are ready to assemble the cake!

- With a fork, dip a cookie in the Espresso mixture on at a time and arrange them in the pan. You may need broken cookies to fill in some gaps, but it does not have to be perfect. I used about 10 cookies for each layer.

- Next, spread a layer of Nutella over the cookies.

- Then, spread a layer of Whipped Cream (make sure you save about 1/2 cup of the whipped cream to cover the sides of the cake towards the end).

- Repeat the procedure again: Dip the cookies in Espresso Mixture, Arrange the cookies one by one evenly, spread a layer of Nutella, and then a layer of Whipped Cream.

- You made the cake with 2 layers, but please feel free to buy more cookies and make a 3rd layer if you desire. The cake is pretty rich, so 2 layers can be enough.  

- Now Sift the Cocoa Powder all over the top of the cake.

- Put the cake in the refrigerator for about an hour to settle.

- Take the cake out of the Refrigerate and release the cake from the pan

- Spread Whipped Cream all around the cake

- Place the Pan di Stelle Cookies on all edges of the cake and on the top of the cake in the middle.

- Cut into Slices or cover and refrigerate until ready to eat!

My review came out clearly late compared to the launch date of the mini collection, and for this I apologize to those who usually follow me.

At first the reason was given by the fact that not all Trollbeads retailers received the entire collection on time, so much so that even today some beads are not available, therefore waiting to receive the reorder.

I myself had to wait two weeks for the photographs, making them in two different times precisely because they were missing Comet Reindeer, Cocoa Diamond and Stardust Lock.

This unfortunately has gone to the detriment of some retailers who have struggled to please their customers.

I think it should be noted that in the future Trollbeads will take care to make everyone have the complete collection on the scheduled day of the official launch.

We are now at the gates of the new spring collection, scheduled for release on January 21st.
