Trollbeads anche quest’anno ha indetto il concorso People’s Uniques, dove vengono invitati i collezionisti di tutto il mondo a partecipare, presentando fotografie dei propri beads Unici preferiti, con lo scopo di produrre un set. In premio due set composti dai beads risultati vincitori, due per ogni concorrente che ha vinto.
Chi non ha partecipato da concorrente ha avuto la possibilità di farlo come giudice, difatti la giuria è sempre popolare, ossia composta da appassionati del brand.
Ma cosa sta a significare Unico? Probabilmente chi di voi si è approcciato da poco al brand, non lo sa e vorrebbe capire meglio.
Unico, deriva dall’acronimo inglese OOAK, ossia One Of A Kind, che significa letteralmente "unico nel suo genere”. Trollbeads con questo termine sta ad indicare un bead in vetro realizzato a mano, di cui non esistono riproduzioni seriali e programmate come per quelli in collezione ed a catalogo. Vengono comunque prodotti in più quantitativi, così da poter essere distribuiti, più o meno equamente, a livello internazionale.
Dietro agli Unici c’è anche una storia solidale, che vede al timone Lise Aagaard, ideatrice nonché membro della famiglia Trollbeads. Nel 2005 infatti ha sviluppato un progetto, il “Tibet Beads”, per aiutare i rifugiati tibetani in India, disoccupati, ad apprendere un nuovo mestiere da cui poter ricavare un reddito. Attraverso laboratori dedicati, hanno potuto imparare come si realizza un bead in vetro, dando poi successivamente vita ad un set chiamato appunto Tibet e realizzando vetri Unici. Come la stessa Lise Aagaard dice: “Se vuoi davvero aiutare le persone nei paesi del terzo mondo a svilupparsi economicamente, devi insegnare loro cosa stai facendo con successo”.
In questa terza edizione del concorso, i sei beads più votati appartengono tutti a concorrenti italiani, un record assoluto!

Di seguito trovate un collage a confronto, che ho realizzato per mostrare le foto con cui hanno partecipato i concorrenti e le foto istituzionali Trollbeads dopo avere prodotto i beads.
Quest’anno abbiamo poi ben due veterani del concorso: Serena, che vince per il terzo anno consecutivo, e Gaetano che vince per il secondo anno consecutivo con doppietta.
In aggiunta a questi “record”, abbiamo anche un mistero, poiché l’identità della vincitrice con il bead Cielo da Sogno, rimane sconosciuta, di lei si conosce soltanto il nome: Luisa. Forse preferisce rimanere anonima o semplicemente non frequenta i social network, al contrario degli altri vincitori che sono molto attivi e conosciuti.
Prima di passare alle interviste che ho fatto ai vincitori di questa edizione del People’s Uniques, scopriamo i beads uno ad uno.
Bagliore di Bronzo è un bead sfaccettato in color tortora variegato, ricoperto da una serie di pois in avventurina ramata, il classico effetto glitter che ultimamente Trollbeads utilizza spesso nelle proprie creazioni. La sfaccettatura rende il bead prezioso ed enfatizza il luccichio dei pois.
L’originale di Serena sembra avere sfumature che virano verso il verde, mentre quelli da me visionati sono tutti in tonalità tortora con sfumature più chiare, sul beige o più scure, sul fango.
Va comunque ricordato che sono tutti realizzati a mano e, in fase di produzione, da persone diverse, quindi è quasi impossibile riprodurre fedelmente quello che era il design iniziale, tenendo anche conto delle caratteristiche delle bacchette di vetro che, a seconda della serie, possono cambiare un poco di tono colore.
Questo è uno dei bead che avevo votato, poiché amo i pois e l’aspetto che richiama colori naturali. Lo trovo perfetto per questa stagione autunnale.

Motto: Non aspettare che siano gli altri a illuminare la tua strada ma sii la tua luce.

Sentiero di Stelle è un bead in vetro trasparente color verde smeraldo la cui base, della stessa tonalità ma leggermente più chiara, presenta motivi tono su tono che solcano la circonferenza del nucleo. Un tocco d’avventurina poi rende il tutto luminoso.
L’originale di Gaetano sembra differire nella tonalità di colore che risulta essere tendente al verde petrolio. Rimane comunque un bead piacevole e adattissimo in composizioni natalizie o dedicate alla natura.

Motto: Brilla fier* come una stella nel cielo.

Rispetto all’originale le differenze sono pressoché nulle.
Anche questo è stato uno dei bead che avevo votato, la tonalità mi piace moltissimo così come il contrasto che si viene a creare con i pois.

Motto: Tieni gli occhi sempre aperti, la felicità si nasconde in luoghi inaspettati.

L’originale differisce un poco nella tonalità di colore, che sembra essere con maggior presenza di blu e nel motivo della piuma bianca, anche gli esemplari che ho visionato, sono tutti differenti uno dall’altro, con piume disposte in modo irregolare.
Un bead dalla allure romantica che sicuramente piacerà ai tanti appassionati dei riflessi color aurora, che virano appunto dal rosa al violetto e al giallo ambra.

Motto: Trova la pace nel tuo cuore e diffondi la magia.

Questo bead, tenuto conto sempre della lavorazione a mano e delle differenze che ne comporta, ritengo sia molto simile all’originale di Alessandra, adattissimo per chi ha voglia di avere sempre con sé un pezzetto di mare.

Motto: Vivi in armonia con il mondo che ti circonda.

Cielo da Sogno presenta un nucleo azzurro su cui si avvicendano motivi tondeggianti dalle sfumature aurora, al cui centro è posta una piccola bolla, mentre il vetro di copertura è trasparente.
Tra tutti, questo è il bead che meno assomiglia all’originale, lo potete vedere nel collage fatto a confronto tra la foto della partecipante Laura e quella istituzionale Trollbeads.
Però debbo dire che in questo caso preferisco la riproduzione rispetto l’originale, che aveva motivi meno definiti. Anche qui, i bead da me visionati, presentano differenze in tonalità di colore e nel motivo grafico, quindi possiamo affermare sia unico a tutti gli effetti.
Un set particolare formato da sei beads che, se ben osservati, possono avere dei punti in comune.

Lavora a tempo pieno come impiegata presso un’azienda metalmeccanica e, nei ritagli di tempo, le piace molto leggere, fare fotografie, ascoltare musica, guardare film, prendersi cura del giardino e, ovviamente, trastullarsi con i suoi amati Trollbeads.
Serena, prima di ogni cosa, complimenti per la tua vittoria, la terza! Cosa hai fatto quando ti è arrivata la notizia?

Ricordo che era un venerdì mattina presto e avevo ricevuto un messaggio da Gaetano (Sparrow) il quale mi avvisava che, forse forse, qualche nostra foto aveva vinto, ed effettivamente è stato così!
Ero proprio contenta, così ho festeggiato con una bella colazione al bar, visto che ero a casa dal lavoro!
Hai partecipato con svariati Unici, puntavi su questo o ne avevi un altro come prediletto?
Devo dire che gli unici sfaccettati usciti la scorsa primavera hanno fatto un successone, anch’io ne sono stata subito rapita. Effettivamente sono molto particolari, ben rifiniti e hanno quel tocco di glitter che li impreziosisce.
Non avevo nessuna preferenza, ho partecipato con lo spirito di divertirmi a fare foto cercando di “ambientare” ogni unico ad un piccolo angolo del mio giardino, ad una pagina di un libro che mi ha particolarmente colpita o semplicemente abbinandolo a carta per découpage o origami.

Questo concorso, a differenza del People’s Bead, sembra essere più celebrativo del marchio che non un modo per mettere in gioco la creatività dei partecipanti. Cosa ne pensi al riguardo?
Hai ragione! In questo caso non c’è nessuna idea da proporre, il vetro unico esiste già e, in qualche modo, devi “convincere” i votanti a dare la propria preferenza alla tua foto. Proprio come accennavo prima, a fare la differenza, secondo me, è proprio l’ambientazione di chi fa la foto e decide di creare. Tanto più accattivante è il risultato che richiama colori e forme dell’unico stesso, tanto più la foto risulterà essere gradevole agli occhi di chi dovrà votare.
È come sfogliare un giornale: è chiaro che quando lo sfondo della pagina è sempre uguale, non ti soffermi molto e anzi ti annoi un po’, mentre se ci sono dei richiami particolari a colori o forme, attiri l’attenzione e riesci a trasmettere qualcosa a chi legge.
Il set che si è venuto a creare con le singole vittorie, ti sembra armonico o difficile da mantenere insieme?
Il set che si è venuto a creare mi piace molto, forse per il vetro Armonia Marina siamo un po’ fuori stagione ma…che male c’è a sognare il mare in autunno?

Da quanto tempo Trollbeads ti appassiona? Ci sono anche altri brand di componibili che ti piacciono o sei fedele a Trollbeads e componi bracciali “monogami”?
Sono appassionata Trollbeads dal 2013. All’epoca mi ero anche avventurata nel mondo Pandora ma ho ben presto lasciato poiché era uno stile troppo vistoso e “sberluccicante” per i miei gusti.
Pertanto confermo la mia fedeltà a Trollbeads! Che poi abbino a bracciali di Maman et Sophie, Giovanni Raspini e Pandora Me.
I beads in vetro sono delle piccole opere d’arte, poiché realizzati a mano uno ad uno. A quale Unico del passato sei più affezionata?
Sono molto legata ad un unico che mi è stato regalato qualche anno fa da una cara beadfriend. Tutto in questo vetro mi rappresenta: colori preferiti (bianco/pervinca), righe (testarda e pignola come nessuno mai!), glitter (sono una specie di “gazzaladra”!).
Infine, ti chiedo di raccontarci un aneddoto di “vita da collezionista”, perché sappiamo bene che in questo mondo del componibile ce ne sono delle belle da raccontare ;-)
Ricordo che durante un viaggio a Londra di qualche estate fa, avevo pianificato una visitina allo store Trollbeads nel quartiere di Islington; ovviamente, quel pomeriggio avevo al seguito, sbuffanti, mio marito e mio figlio che, per fortuna, hanno preferito aspettarmi seduti su una comoda panchina a due passi dal negozio. Non credo di averci messo molto a fare qualche acquisto, ebbene, quando sono uscita, li ho ritrovati beatamente addormentati! Siamo poi finiti in una pasticceria proprio lì di fronte a bere il più buono (e costoso!) Earl Grey Tea del mondo!

Serena, riesco ad immaginare la scena, esilarante davvero! D’altronde è risaputo che gli uomini, quando le mogli fanno shopping, preferirebbero essere sotto le coltri a dormire beatamente…i tuoi uomini di casa l’hanno messo in pratica ;-)
Ti ringrazio per l’intervista, e sono d’accordo con te quando dici che alla fine nel concorso People’s Uniques una bella foto può fare la differenza. Le tue lo dimostrano ampiamente, si vede che ti sei divertita, ma anche impegnata, per trovare la giusta ambientazione ad ogni singolo unico con cui hai partecipato. Un poco mi compiaccio perché il tuo Unico lo avevo votato. Congratulazioni ancora Serena!
Gaetano, prima di ogni cosa, complimenti per la tua doppia vittoria! Cosa hai fatto quando ti è arrivata la notizia?
Grazie mille Elena! La notizia, per via del fuso orario, mi è arrivata da alcune collezioniste straniere. Sicuramente non ho fatto capriole o salti mortali, non ho più l’età! Sono stato però sicuramente felice, per il secondo anno di seguito. Amo fotografare i miei beads e quindi, partecipare ad un concorso dove si caricano fotografie, mi rende felice. Poi se si vince ancor meglio!

Non avevo beads che prediligevo più di altri, il mio intento era, come già detto, partecipare e scattare tante fotografie. Certo il mio verde teal “My Galaxy” è quello che, magari, più di tutti volevo vedere realizzato, perché ahimè il mio si è danneggiato.

Credo sia un ottimo concorso di fotografia che, fortunatamente, abbassa il concetto di collezionismo costoso.
Infatti un vetro unico raro, che vale parecchio, con questo concorso perde il suo valore da collezionismo e diventa alla portata di tutti: in questo modo le trolline e i trollini che lo desideravano, ma non avevano avuto la possibilità di acquistarlo, possono finalmente farlo. Ottimo direi!

Questi set non sono mai armonici, ma sappiamo benissimo che Trollbeads non ha mai puntato all’armonia dei set nelle svariate nuove uscite. Credo che Trollbeads punti proprio sullo staccarsi dall’armonia e dalla perfezione cromatica, basti guardare i molteplici set nel corso degli anni. Inoltre vedere un set non armonico, fa davvero pensare ad un concorso veritiero, dove nasce composto a “casaccio” grazie ai voti ricevuti.

La mia passione inizia nel dicembre 2015, quando accompagnando un’amica ad una giornata Trollbeads, la mia attenzione fu catturata dalla chiusura “Vento del Cambiamento”. Sinceramente Trollbeads è il brand che più prediligo ma, ogni tanto, colleziono qualcosa di artigianale, qualcosa di Ohm Beads e Argo Studio. Raramente mi piace mescolare questi brand, infatti compongo solo bracciali tema Trollbeads.

Eh sì, sono delle piccole opere d’arte!
Mi piacciono un po’ tutti i vetri old, ed essere affezionato solo ad uno è impossibile. Posso però definire i miei preferiti, che mi si addicono di più come stile: quelli del set Tibet, gli ornament e, come già sai, il mio debole sono le ambre.

Più che raccontare un aneddoto di “vita da collezionista”, preferisco raccontare una cosa simpatica che ho “combinato”!
Allora…ehm… erano le 00:36 di notte quando messaggiavo con la mia amica Nadia, parlando anche di cose serie e del nostro gruppo Trollbeads.
Mentre parlavamo io ero sul letto a pancia in su, con la testa sul cuscino, sotto il piumone, col mio pigiama di pile (provate ad immedesimarvi e ad immaginare la scena) ed avevo il telefono tra le mani intento a scrivere. Ad un certo punto mando un audio. Ma sapete che audio e cosa era accaduto?!? Mi ero addormentato col telefono in mano, in piena conversazione e, nel frangente in cui dormivo, non so come ho fatto ma ho avuto la capacità di centrare col naso il microfono degli audio, inviando un vocale… mentre russavo!
Non contento, mi cade l’iPhone in faccia, apro gli occhi e vedo che la mia amica Nadia aveva ricevuto il mio audio mentre russavo!!! Capite??? Russavo e mi ero addormentato come un baccalà!
Vabbè collezionare Trollbeads è anche questo :-)

Gaetano, mi hai fatta sbellicare dalle risate :-D la tua minuziosa descrizione rende perfettamente l’idea e ti immagino appunto nel tuo letto a russare, mentre chissà Nadia quali risate si sarà fatta! Sì, Trollbeads è anche questo, condividere il quotidiano con amici che hanno la nostra stessa passione.
Quando dici che questo concorso in qualche modo abbassa il livello di valore riferito al collezionismo, e rende accessibile a tutti qualcosa di introvabile, mi trovi in accordo, soprattutto verso quegli unici che hanno avuto ampi riscontri come Scintille di Felicità, con cui hai vinto e che io stessa avevo votato, non essendo riuscita ad acquistarlo per lasciarlo ad un’altra persona che lo desiderava.

Ho scoperto della vittoria da un post su Facebook e ho dovuto guardare e riguardare per esserne certa!

Ho partecipato con diversi unici poiché ne possiedo molti che amo, dei due arrivati in finale pensavo che il vincitore avesse meno possibilità invece è stato scelto come uno dei preferiti e ne sono molto felice. Trovo che anche l’altro fosse un bellissimo bead.

Sono totalmente d’accordo. A differenza del People’s Bead, che premia la creatività e le idee personali, il concorso People’s Uniques è una sorta di galleria di bead già esistenti (ed effettivamente non unici, molto spesso si vedono bead uguali), d’altra parte è un modo per permettere a tutti di avere i bead più desiderati che spesso risultano molto difficili da trovare e spesso rimangono un sogno.
Il set che si è venuto a creare con le singole vittorie, ti sembra armonico o difficile da mantenere insieme?
Trovo che il set, chiamato “Giochi di colore”, possa ritenersi un bel set variopinto.

Ho conosciuto Trollbeads circa 12 anni fa ed è stato amore a prima vista. Nel tempo la passione è cresciuta e sono rimasta fedele al marchio. Non ho mai acquistato altri brand ed i miei bracciali sono rigorosamente Trollbeads.
I beads in vetro sono delle piccole opere d’arte, poiché realizzati a mano uno ad uno. A quale Unico del passato sei più affezionata?
Davvero difficile sceglierne uno soltanto. Tra i tanti che mi piacciono scelgo Cherry blossom su base azzurra, uno dei primi Small&Beautiful, che mi ricorda il Giappone e la fioritura dei ciliegi durante l’Hanami.

La passione che ho per Trollbeads è talmente forte che è parte della quotidianità in famiglia, i miei bimbi (2 e 4 anni) conoscono i nomi di alcuni bead e sono spesso coinvolti, insieme a mio marito, alle fotografie che amo scattare. E amo mettermi in gioco e partecipare a tutti i concorsi indetti da Trollbeads.
Qui il piccolo all’età di 2 mesi, protagonista di uno scatto per il concorso Trollnevale (che consisteva nel mascherarsi da un bead a scelta). Ricordo di aver cercato per un’intera giornata una tutina tutta rosa senza altri disegni per creare lo sfondo del bead Palloncini.

Noemi, grazie per l’intervista. Il tuo bimbo travestito da bead Palloncini è stata una idea davvero geniale, immagino i consensi che avrà riscosso in negozio! Il fatto che tu poi coinvolga la famiglia nelle scorribande Trollbeads, denota non solo la tua passione ma anche la disponibilità di tuo marito e dei tuoi bambini. Non so quanti riescano nell’impresa ;-)

Ho condiviso la mia contentezza con le amiche del cuore, le quali mi hanno avvisata che ero tra i vincitori, dopodiché ho chiamato la mamma e mio marito per festeggiare.

Ho partecipato con gli unici che preferisco tra quelli che possiedo. Pensavo che tra tutti, quello con maggiori chance di vittoria fosse il seguente, in quanto molto particolare a mio giudizio.

Penso che questo concorso dia la possibilità a tutti i collezionisti ed appassionati, di conoscere e condividere pezzi unici e incredibili. Inoltre, garantisce la possibilità di ottenere a prezzi accessibili/di catalogo, rarità irraggiungibili altrimenti.
Il set che si è venuto a creare con le singole vittorie, ti sembra armonico o difficile da mantenere insieme?
Trovo sia solo il gusto personale a definire facile o difficile l’abbinamento di vetri disomogenei, dal punto di vista cromatico e stilistico. Quasi tutti i bracciali che ho collezionato finora, sono molto variegati e li adoro per questo. In questo caso particolare credo lo suddividerò in due progetti, uno a tema marino e uno a tema foresta.

Colleziono Trollbeads dal luglio del 2014. Da allora ad oggi ho scoperto e collezionato anche Elfbeads, Redbalifrog, Spiritbeads, Ohm Beads, Argo Studio ed alcuni vetri artigianali.
Tendenzialmente mi definisco una purista, in quanto cerco di non mischiare i diversi brand.
I beads in vetro sono delle piccole opere d’arte, poiché realizzati a mano uno ad uno. A quale Unico del passato sei più affezionata?
Di meravigliosi ce ne sono moltissimi, ma dovendone scegliere uno direi la rana che insegue l’insetto. È stata una delle poche sorprese che è riuscito a farmi mio marito, in quanto difficilmente riesce ad anticiparmi.
Infine, ti chiedo di raccontarci un aneddoto di “vita da collezionista”, perché sappiamo bene che in questo mondo del componibile ce ne sono delle belle da raccontare ;-)
Non ho aneddoti veri e propri da raccontare, posso però dire che la mia passione per gli unici Trollbeads, mi ha dato la possibilità di conoscere persone meravigliose, con le quali ho instaurato un genuino legame di amicizia. Questo aggiunge notevole valore alla mia esperienza da appassionata collezionista.

Per la edizione People's Uniques 2023, auspico in una revisione del concorso, dove ci sia un limite di fotografie con cui partecipare (50 mi sembrano davvero troppe), dove ci sia anche una pre-selezione da parte di chi gestisce il concorso poiché tante fotografie non riguardano Unici ma bead in collezione o, peggio ancora, bead in argento e non in vetro! Tutto questo per rendere più snella la procedura di votazione e migliorarla, poiché anche quest’anno, da giudice, ho riscontrato difficoltà nel visionare le fotografie, spesso nel carosello di immagini, mi si presentavano le stesse, sono quindi certa di non averle potute valutare tutte poiché erano davvero tantissime. Per questo si rende indispensabile un limite di fotografie con cui partecipare.
Speriamo Trollbeads accolga questo appello che so non essere soltanto mio.

People's Uniques Trollbeads 2022: interview with the winners
Trollbeads also this year launched the People's Uniques competition, where collectors from all over the world are invited to participate, presenting photographs of their favorite Unique beads, with the aim of producing a set. The prize is two sets made up of the winning beads, two for each competitor who has won. Those who did not participate as a competitor had the opportunity to do so as a judge, in fact the jury is always popular, i.e. made up of fans of the brand.
But what does Unique mean? Probably those of you who have recently approached the brand do not know it and would like to understand better.
Unique, derives from the English acronym OOAK, One Of A Kind, which literally means. Trollbeads with this term indicates a handmade glass bead, of which there are no serial and programmed reproductions as per those in the collection and in the catalog, however, are produced in multiple quantities, so that they can be distributed, more or less equally, internationally.
Behind the Unique there is also a solidarity story, which sees Lise Aagaard, creator and member of the Trollbeads family at the helm. In fact, in 2005 it developed a project, the “Tibet Beads”, to help Tibetan refugees in India, unemployed, to learn a new profession from which they can earn an income. Through dedicated workshops, they were able to learn how a glass bead is made, then subsequently giving life to a set called precisely Tibet and making Unique glasses. As Lise Aagaard herself says: “If you really want to help people in third world countries develop economically, you have to teach them what you are doing successfully”.
In this third edition of the competition, the six most voted beads all belong to Italian competitors, an absolute record!

This year we have two veterans of the competition: Serena, who wins for the third consecutive year, and Tano/Gaetano who wins for the second consecutive year with a brace.
In addition to these "records", we also have a mystery, since the identity of the winner with the Dream Azure bead remains unknown, only her name is known: Luisa. Perhaps she prefers to remain anonymous or simply does not frequent social networks, unlike the other winners who are very active and well known.
Before moving on to the interviews I did with the winners of this edition of People's Uniques, let's discover the beads one by one.
Caramel Desire Bead is a faceted bead in a variegated dove-gray color, covered with a series of coppery aventurine polka dots, the classic glitter effect that Trollbeads lately uses often in their creations. The facet makes the bead precious and emphasizes the shimmer of the polka dots.
The original by Serena seems to have shades that turn towards green, while those I have seen are all in dove-gray shades with lighter shades, on beige or darker, on mud.
However, it should be remembered that they are all handmade and, in the production phase, by different people, so it is almost impossible to faithfully reproduce what was the initial design, also taking into account the characteristics of the glass rods which, depending on the series, can change a little color tone.
This is one of the beads I voted for, as I love the polka dots and the look that recalls natural colors. I find it perfect for this fall season.

My Galaxy Bead is an emerald green transparent glass bead whose base, of the same shade but slightly lighter, has tone-on-tone motifs that furrow the circumference of the core. A touch of aventurine then makes everything bright.
Gaetano's original seems to differ in the color tone which tends to be tending to petrol green. However, it remains a pleasant and very suitable bead in Christmas compositions or dedicated to nature.
Cost: € 45.
Motto: Walk your own galaxy.

Gold Stream Bead is a faceted glass bead, a color variant of Caramel Desire Bead, since the aventurine polka dots are the same, so the variegated appearance, here however in a blue color that turns to periwinkle.
Compared to the original, the differences are almost nil.
This was also one of the beads I voted for, I really like the shade as well as the contrast that is created with the polka dots.
Cost: € 45.
Motto: Keep your eyes open for treasures suddenly drifting by.

Dove Feathers Bead is a bead whose core has aurora shades on which is placed what appears to be a stylized white feather, while the cover glass is transparent.
The original differs a little in the shade of color, which seems to be with a greater presence of blue and in the motif of the white feather, even the specimens I have seen are all different from each other, with feathers arranged in an irregular way.
A bead with a romantic allure that will surely appeal to the many fans of aurora-colored reflections, which turn from pink to violet and amber yellow.
Cost: € 45.
Motto: As a beautiful symbol of hope and peace.

Sea Fun Bead is a bead with a core divided into two parts, half sea blue and half beige variegated, aimed at simulating the seabed and the color of the water. On the seabed, two orange starfish alternate with two two-tone orange and red shells and a small light blue and blue dot in the center.
This bead, always taking into account the handwork and the differences it entails, I believe is very similar to Alessandra's original, very suitable for those who want to always have a piece of the sea with them.
Cost: € 45.
Motto: Go for a swim and play in the sea.

Dream Azure Bead has a blue core on which round motifs with aurora shades alternate, in the center of which there is a small bubble, while the covering verte is transparent.
Of all, this is the bead that least resembles the original, you can see it in the collage made by comparing the photo of the participant Laura and the institutional Trollbeads one.
But I must say that in this case I prefer the reproduction over the original, which had less defined motifs. Here too, the beads I have viewed have differences in color tones and in the graphic pattern, so we can say that it is unique in all respects.

SERENA lives in the province of Venice between Veneto and Friuli, with her husband and son.
She works full time as a clerk in an engineering company and, in her spare time, she really enjoys reading, taking pictures, listening to music, watching movies, taking care of the garden and, of course, playing with her beloved Trollbeads.
Serena, first of all, congratulations on your victory, the third! What did you do when the news came to you?
Thank you Elena!
I remember it was an early Friday morning and I had received a message from Gaetano (Sparrow) who warned me that, perhaps perhaps, some of our photos had won, and indeed it was!
I was really happy, so I celebrated with a nice breakfast at the bar, as I was home from work!
Have you participated with several Unique, did you focus on this one or did you have another one as a favorite?
I must say that the only multi-faceted ones released last spring made a success, I too was immediately kidnapped. Indeed they are very special, well finished and have that touch of glitter that embellishes them.
I had no preference, I participated with the spirit of having fun taking pictures trying to "set" every single one in a small corner of my garden, on a page of a book that particularly struck me or simply combining it with paper for découpage or origami.
This contest, unlike the People's Bead, seems to be more celebratory of the brand than a way to put the creativity of the participants on the line. What do you think about it?
You are right! In this case, there is no idea to propose, single glass already exists and, in some way, you have to "convince" the voters to give their preference to your photo. Just as I mentioned before, what makes the difference, in my opinion, is the setting of those who take the photo and decide to create. The more captivating is the result that recalls the colors and shapes of the same, more the photo will be pleasing to the eyes of those who have to vote.
It is like leafing through a newspaper: it is clear that when the background of the page is always the same, you do not linger much and indeed you get bored a little, while if there are particular references to colors or shapes, you attract attention and are able to convey something to the reader.
Does the set created with the individual wins seem harmonious or difficult to keep together?
I really like the set that was created, perhaps for Sea Fun glass we are a bit out of season but ... what's wrong with dreaming of the sea in autumn?
How long have you been passionate about Trollbeads? Are there also other modular brands that you like or are you loyal to Trollbeads and make “monogamous” bracelets?
I have been passionate about Trollbeads since 2013. At the time I had also ventured into the world of Pandora but I soon left because it was too flashy and "shimmering" style for my taste.
Therefore I confirm my loyalty to Trollbeads! Which I then pair with bracelets by Maman et Sophie, Giovanni Raspini and Pandora Me.
The glass beads are small works of art, as they are handcrafted one by one. Which Unique from the past are you most fond of?
I am very attached to a single that was given to me a few years ago by a dear beadfriend. Everything in this glass represents me: favorite colors (white / periwinkle), stripes (stubborn and fussy like no one ever!), glitter (they are a kind of “magpie”!).
Finally, I ask you to tell us an anecdote of "life as a collector", because we know that in this world of the modular there are some good things to tell ;-)
I remember that during a trip to London a few summers ago, I had planned a visit to the Trollbeads store in the borough of Islington; obviously, that afternoon I had in tow, snorting, my husband and my son who, fortunately, preferred to wait for me sitting on a comfortable bench a few steps from the shop. I don't think it took me long to make some purchases, well, when I went out, I found them blissfully asleep! We then ended up in a bakery right there in front of drinking the best (and most expensive!) Earl Gray Tea in the world!

Serena, I can imagine the scene, really hilarious! On the other hand, it is well known that men, when their wives go shopping, would prefer to be under the covers to sleep peacefully ... your men of the house have put it into practice ;-)

Yours demonstrate it amply, you can see that you enjoyed yourself, but also committed, to find the right setting for every single one with which you participated. GAETANO or Tano, known on social networks as "Gaetano Sparrow", lives in the province of Foggia, Puglia. Piercer by profession, he performs piercings at some tattoo studios. Passionate about photography and passionate about beads, he manages a Facebook group dedicated to this last passion, together with Nadia.
Gaetano, first of all, congratulations on your double victory! What did you do when the news came to you?
Thanks a lot Elena! The news, due to the time zone, came to me from some foreign collectors. I certainly haven't done somersaults or flips, I'm no longer old! But I was certainly happy, for the second year in a row. I love to photograph my beads and therefore, participating in a contest where photographs are uploaded, makes me happy. Then if you win even better!
Have you participated with several Unique, did you focus on this one or did you have another one as favorite?
I did not have beads that I preferred more than others, my intent was, as already said, to participate and take many photographs. Of course, my teal green “My Galaxy” is what, perhaps, most of all I wanted to see realized, because alas mine was damaged.
This contest, unlike the People's Bead, seems to be more celebratory of the brand than a way to put the creativity of the participants on the line. What do you think about it?
I think it's a great photography contest which, fortunately, lowers the concept of expensive collecting.
In fact, a rare unique glass, which is worth a lot, with this competition loses its collector value and becomes within everyone's reach: in this way the trolline and trollini who wanted it, but had not had the opportunity to buy it, can finally do it. Great I'd say!
Does the set created with the individual wins seem harmonious or difficult to keep together?
These sets are never harmonic, but we know very well that Trollbeads has never aimed for the harmony of the sets in the various new releases. I believe that Trollbeads focuses precisely on detaching from harmony and chromatic perfection, just look at the many sets over the years. Furthermore, seeing a non-harmonious set really makes one think of a truthful competition, where it is born composed at "random" thanks to the votes received.
How long have you been passionate about Trollbeads? Are there also other modular brands that you like or are you loyal to Trollbeads and make “monogamous” bracelets?
My passion began in December 2015, when accompanying a friend to a Trollbeads day, my attention was captured by the “Soft Wind of Change Clasp”. Honestly, Trollbeads is my favorite brand but, every now and then, I collect something handmade, something by Ohm Beads and Argo Studio. I rarely like to mix these brands, in fact I only compose Trollbeads themed bracelets.

Yes, they are small works of art!
I like all old glasses a bit, and being fond of just one is impossible. However, I can define my favorites, which suit me more as a style: those of the Tibet set, the ornaments and, as you already know, my weakness are ambers.
Finally, I ask you to tell us an anecdote of "life as a collector", because we know that in this world of the modular there are some good things to tell ;-)
More than telling an anecdote of "life as a collector", I prefer to tell a nice thing that I "combined"!
So… um… it was 00:36 at night when I was texting my friend Nadia, also talking about serious things and our Trollbeads group.
While we were talking I was on the bed face up, with my head on the pillow, under the duvet, with my fleece pajamas (try to identify yourself and imagine the scene) and I had the phone in my hands intent on writing. At some point I send an audio. But do you know that audio and what had happened?!? I had fallen asleep with the phone in my hand, in full conversation and, in the moment in which I was sleeping, I don't know how I did it but I had the ability to center the microphone of the audio with my nose, sending a voice… while I was snoring!
Not happy, my iPhone falls in my face, I open my eyes and see that my friend Nadia had received my audio while I was snoring !!! Do you understand ??? I was snoring and fell asleep like a cod!
Oh well, collecting Trollbeads is also this :-)
Gaetano, you make me laugh with laughter, your meticulous description makes the idea perfectly and you wind up snoring in your bed, while who knows what laughs Nadia will have! Yes, Trollbeads is also this, sharing everyday life with friends who have the same passion as us.
When you say that this competition somehow lowers the level of value referred to collecting, and makes something impossible to find accessible to everyone, you find me in agreement, especially towards those only ones who have had extensive feedback such as Gold Stream, with which you have won and that I myself had voted, not being able to buy it to leave it to another person who wanted it.
Thank you for the interview and congratulations again for your double, a great satisfaction that enriches your Trollbeads medal collection ;-) For those who still don't know, Gaetano also won the last edition of the People's Bead Trollbeads with the Wishful Sky Tassel, thus entering the squad of Trollbeads designers by right. NOEMI is known on social networks as Sayuri San, a nickname that recalls the passion for Japan. Piedmontese by birth but Emilian by adoption for a few years together with her husband and two children. He works in the health sector. Usually shy, for the first time it shows itself in photos. She says she has more bracelets than years (born in 1988) which suggests the level of "addiction". The first beads were given to her by her beloved mother, who passed away a few years ago and, perhaps also for this reason, she feels a special bond with the world of Trollbeads.
Noemi, first of all, congratulations on your victory! What did you do when the news came to you?
Thank you so much for the compliments, the victory was as unexpected as it was desired.
I found out about the win from a Facebook post and had to watch and re-watch to be sure!
Have you participated with several Unique, did you focus on this one or did you have another one as a favorite?
I participated with several unique ones as I have many that I love, of the two that arrived in the final I thought that the winner had less chance but he was chosen as a favorite and I am very happy. I find that the other was also a beautiful bead.

I totally agree. Unlike the People's Bead, which rewards creativity and personal ideas, the People's Uniques competition is a sort of gallery of already existing beads (and actually not unique, very often you see the same beads), on the other hand it is a way to allow everyone to have the most desired beads that are often very difficult to find and often remain a dream.
Does the set created with the individual wins seem harmonious or difficult to keep together?
I find that the set, called “Color games”, can be considered a beautiful colorful set.
How long have you been passionate about Trollbeads? Are there also other modular brands that you like or are you loyal to Trollbeads and make “monogamous” bracelets?
I met Trollbeads about 12 years ago and it was love at first sight. Over time the passion has grown and I have remained loyal to the brand. I have never bought other brands and my bracelets are strictly Trollbeads.

Really difficult to choose just one. Among the many that I like, I choose Cherry blossom on a blue base, one of the first Small & Beautiful, which reminds me of Japan and the cherry blossom during Hanami.

The passion I have for Trollbeads is so strong that it is part of everyday life in the family, my children (2 and 4 years old) know the names of some beads and are often involved, together with my husband, in the photographs I love to take. And I love to get involved and participate in all the contests held by Trollbeads.
Here the little one at the age of 2 months, the protagonist of a shot for the Trollnevale competition (which consisted of disguising himself as a bead of your choice). I remember looking for a whole day for an all pink onesie with no other designs to create the background of the Balloons bead.
Noemi, thanks for the interview. Your child disguised as bead Balloons was a really brilliant idea, I imagine the acclaim he will have received in the store! The fact that you then involve the family in the Trollbeads raids, denotes not only your passion but also the availability of your husband and your children. I don't know how many succeed in the enterprise ;-)

I participated with the only ones I prefer among those I own. I thought that among all, the one with the greatest chance of winning was the following, as it is very particular in my opinion.

I think this competition gives all collectors and enthusiasts the opportunity to know and share unique and incredible pieces. In addition, it guarantees the possibility of obtaining affordable / catalog prices, rarities otherwise unattainable.
Does the set created with the individual wins seem harmonious or difficult to keep together?
I find it is only personal taste that defines the combination of inhomogeneous glass as easy or difficult, from a chromatic and stylistic point of view. Almost all the bracelets I have collected so far are very varied and I love them for that. In this particular case I think I will divide it into two projects, one with a marine theme and one with a forest theme.
How long have you been passionate about Trollbeads? Are there also other modular brands that you like or are you loyal to Trollbeads and make “monogamous” bracelets?
I have been collecting Trollbeads since July 2014. Since then I have also discovered and collected Elfbeads, Redbalifrog, Spiritbeads, Ohm Beads, Argo Studio and some handcrafted glass.
I tend to define myself as a purist, as I try not to mix different brands.

There are many wonderful ones, but having to choose one I would say the frog chasing the insect. It was one of the few surprises my husband managed to give me, as he can hardly anticipate me.

I have no real anecdotes to tell, but I can say that my passion for the uniques Trollbeads, has given me the opportunity to meet wonderful people, with whom I have established a genuine bond of friendship. This adds considerable value to my experience as an avid collector.
Alessandra thank you for this interview, and I absolutely agree when you say that the passion for Trollbeads gives opportunities to add value through friendships born for the same interest. Without sharing, the passions would probably be less exciting.

For the People's Uniques 2023 edition, I hope for a review of the competition, where there is a limit of photographs with which to participate (50 seem really too many), where there is also a pre-selection by those who manage the contest because many photographs are not unique but bead in the collection or, worse still, bead in silver and not in glass! All this to streamline the voting procedure and improve it, since again this year, as a judge, I found it difficult to view the photographs, often in the carousel of images, the same ones were presented to me, so I am sure I could not evaluate them all, because they were really so many. This is why a limit of photographs with which to participate is essential.
We hope Trollbeads accepts this appeal which I know is not mine alone.
