OHM Beads, brand americano di gioielli componibili, ha presentato sui social tre dei vincitori del progetto OHMLAB.
Cosa è il progetto OHMLAB?
Si tratta di una collaborazione con i fans del marchio, OHM Beads lancia il "laboratorio" sui canali social ed i fans si cimentano con le proprie idee, partecipando con una proposta che poi verrà vagliata e scelta dal team OHM Beads.
Questi che vedete appunto sono tre dei beads risultati vincitori e saranno disponibili dal mese di aprile; sugli altri vige ancora il più stretto riserbo.

OHMLAB No. 20 - "Paws Of Love" di Maria Helena G. Giacomelli e Susy Gamarra.
OHMLAB No.22 - "Give" di Nicoletta Savoia e Daniela Ieppariello.
Il progetto numero 22 appartiene a due italiane, note nel mondo dei gruppi Facebook dedicati ai beads. Per campanilismo non potevo dunque non intervistarle e le ringrazio per avere accettato!
Due cenni su chi sono le vincitrici e poi scopriremo come è nata questa collaborazione tra Nicoletta, Daniela ed OHM Beads.
NICOLETTA SAVOIA abita in provincia di Torino, si è appassionata al mondo dei beads circa dieci anni fa.
Ha iniziato con Trollbeads per poi spaziare anche con altri brand famosi e con beads in argento e beads in vetro artigianali.
Nel tempo libero ama leggere, andare a concerti di musica, sia pop/rock che classica e viaggiare è la sua più grande passione.
Colleziona anche borse, braccialetti in oro e argento, così come ama i gioielli in tutte le loro espressioni che considera, a tutti gli effetti, una forma d'arte.
Ha un figlio maschio con cui purtroppo non può condividere queste passioni, a parte quella per la musica, visto che lui suona due strumenti e compone anche brani musicali.
Completano la sua vita un marito (!) e due meravigliosi cani che ama come due figli.
DANIELA IEPPARIELLO abita a Napoli, si occupa della sua famiglia a tempo pieno. Ha molti interessi in svariati ambiti. Il suo hobby principale però è diventato quello di ideare argenti per gioielli componibili e questa esperienza con OHM Beads è stata davvero importante per lei.
Ama disegnare e stare a contatto con la natura, in questo periodo di reclusione, causa lockdown, ne sente ancor più la necessità.
Nicoletta e Daniela, anzitutto congratulazioni per la vostra vittoria! Ed ora diteci, chi tra voi ha avuto l'intento di partecipare ed ha invitato l'altra?
Nicoletta - Ho proposto la parola “Give” all’interno del concorso promosso da OHM Beads e ho invitato a collaborare con me Daniela Ieppariello, poiché conoscevo le sue spiccate doti di creatività.
Daniela - Niky ha partecipato e ha scelto la parola, ha poi taggato me per collaborare.
Quale è stata la motivazione che vi ha persuase, l'una a partecipare e l'altra ad accettare l'invito, per questo progetto "OHMLAB"?
Nicoletta - Partecipo quasi sempre alle iniziative dei concorsi relativi ai beads, mi piace mettermi in gioco, mi piace l’idea di poter “creare” qualcosa, anche se non mi ritengo affatto una creativa! In questo caso il concorso non era un puro e semplice gioco, e nemmeno un quiz. Si chiedeva di suggerire una parola di sole quattro lettere, per creare un nuovo bead in argento che andasse a sommarsi alla serie già esistente di “Words” del brand.
Era dunque un po’ una “sfida” nel proporre un’idea completamente nuova e non già esistente, cosa che mi ha intrigato moltissimo.
Daniela - Ero molto contenta che Niky mi avesse scelta, sinceramente non so perché proprio io e non ricordo se avesse scritto altre parole collegandosi ad altre persone. Ero e sono felice di aver avuto l'opportunità di contribuire alla realizzazione di un bead OHM. Il fatto che possa essere pubblicizzato, di vederlo nei negozi e sapere che sarà sul polso o su una collana di molte persone, mi entusiasma moltissimo.
Come vi è venuta la idea della parola GIVE? Che ruolo avete avuto, ognuna di voi, all'interno di questo progetto a quattro mani?
Nicoletta - Quando si è trattato di proporre una parola di quattro lettere, in inglese ovviamente, il mio primo pensiero è andato alle altre parole degli argenti OHM già esistenti…e una in particolare, LOVE, mi veniva alla mente. Così ho subito pensato alla parola Give, ossia “dare”, da unire per esempio alla parola LOVE, amore… e in ogni caso, nel senso più ampio del termine. Dare, essere empatici, generosi. Condividere. Dare Amore!
Tramite un portale di condivisione abbiamo potuto inviare le nostre idee ed i suggerimenti. Ci è stato chiesto ovviamente, come prima cosa, di disegnare un possibile layout della parola.
A me come prima idea è venuto in mente di sostituire la lettera V della parola GiVe con un cuore, che ricorda in qualche modo la forma della V. Daniela ha poi proposto la sua parte di immaginazione relativa alle lettere e a ciò che esse le suggerivano.
Da questi primi abbozzi di idee, piano piano il Laboratorio OHM ha cominciato a delineare le prime fasi di realizzazione della grafica, per passare poi ad un render 3D.
Ricevevamo tramite email gli aggiornamenti dell'OHMLAB, che di volta in volta ci chiedeva di realizzare degli step oppure ci domandava pareri su ciò che stavano proponendo essi stessi, sia a livello di realizzazione che di packaging.
Daniela - La parola è venuta in mente a Niky.
Abbiamo contribuito entrambe al disegno e alla progettazione, la linea OHM Words ha poco spazio per la fantasia, in quanto impone che vi siano quattro lettere per ogni parola e queste possono essere personalizzate. Niky ha scelto un cuore per la V perché quando si dona, lo si deve fare con amore, io invece ho scelto l'albero per la i, mi sono ispirata al primo GIVE della storia dell'umanità, fu Eva a dare ad Adamo la famosa MELA, ricca di simboli e significati... la mia mela cade e si appoggia sulle E. Abbiamo avuto la possibilità di scegliere lo scatolino. Abbiamo preferito una confezione economica che altrimenti avrebbe rischiato di aumentare il prezzo del bead e in questo periodo storico è preferibile non farlo. Ho mostrato tre disegni di alberi e hanno scelto questo che vedete in foto. È l'albero della vita.
Quando avete saputo di avere vinto? Come vi è stato comunicato?
Nicoletta - Dopo alcuni giorni dall’inizio del concorso, sulla pagina Facebook di OHM sono apparsi i nomi dei vincitori, e siamo state taggate. Ho scoperto così che la mia parola era stata prescelta per essere trasformata in un nuovo bead da OHM! Devo ammettere che è stata per me una bellissima soddisfazione!
Daniela - Non ricordo di preciso, quindi ritengo valida la risposta di Niky.
Siete soddisfatte di come è stato riprodotto il bead?
Nicoletta - Personalmente sì, sono molto soddisfatta. Collaborare a distanza per un seppur piccolo progetto come questo è stata una bella esperienza.

Daniela - Trovo che sia delizioso nell'insieme, una parola ricca di significato ed è venuta armonica.
Degli altri progetti che sono stati realizzati pari al vostro, quale vi ha colpite
di più?
Nicoletta - Sarò estremamente sincera: non mi ha colpito particolarmente nessun altro dei progetti presentati! Ciascuno, a suo modo, ha messo la propria creatività e le proprie idee a disposizione del marchio OHM, che ha poi conseguentemente deciso per alcuni progetti piuttosto che altri.
Daniela - Paws of Love e uno che ancora deve uscire, per cui non posso parlare ma posso dire soltanto che sarà intercambiabile.
Entrambe avete ricevuto in premio il vostro bead realizzato in argento, lo avete già inserito in un bracciale, magari donandogli un significato particolare?
Nicoletta - Si, ho montato il mio GIVE proprio vicino all’altro argento OHM LOVE, per i motivi di cui ho parlato precedentemente.
Daniela - L'ho messo nel bangle che faccio io, ovviamente ;-)
Da quanti anni collezionate OHM Beads e come avete conosciuto il marchio?
Nicoletta - Ho iniziato a collezionare gli argenti e i vetri OHM Beads circa cinque anni fa, al momento non ho più una grande quantità di beads perché col tempo ho selezionato ciò che veramente mi interessava ancora, vendendo il resto.
Daniela - Conosco il marchio da cinque anni e adoro il fatto che dia la possibilità alla gente comune di contribuire a creare i beads, spero di poterne fare ancora per loro.
Quale è la caratteristica che più vi intriga di questo brand americano?
Nicoletta - Ohm ha sempre rappresentato per me la parte più ludica e scanzonata del mondo di questi piccoli gioielli in argento, ecco perché mi ha attirata.
Daniela - Mi piace la manifattura e il packaging.
Avete un suggerimento da rivolgere a OHM Beads per la prossima edizione di OHMLAB?
Nicoletta - Personalmente mi piacerebbe e mi avrebbe fatto piacere che i nomi di chi si è speso per questa creazione fossero stati resi noti nella release del bead, anche se ancora ciò non è avvenuto. Spero che il brand riproponga in futuro OHMLAB, perché è stata una bella collaborazione, c’è stata sinergia fra svariate persone e alla fine devo dire che il risultato è stato appagante e molto piacevole!
Daniela - Non saprei... sembra perfetto così.
Nicoletta, che non ritiene di avere questa qualità, trovo invece sia una donna molto creativa, negli abbinamenti, nella selezione di beads da indossare ed anche per alcune idee come questa che le hanno permesso, insieme a Daniela, di vincere con il proprio progetto.
La creatività ha tante sfaccettature e non occorre essere degli abili disegnatori per cimentarsi nella ideazione di un bead, basta avere quella scintilla, quel piccolo lampo di genio che poi verrà tradotto attraverso vari step, come Nicoletta e Daniela hanno spiegato durante la intervista.
Daniela, che da hobbista da alcuni anni crea beads ed accessori per il mondo dei gioielli componibili, ha dato anch'essa il suo importante contributo, non a caso Nicoletta l'ha scelta come compagna di viaggio. Scelta oculata che le ha condotte dritte alla vittoria nonché alla soddisfazione di vedere realizzato il proprio bead.
Nicoletta e Daniela portano quindi con lustro il nome dell'Italia sino negli States, essendo il marchio OHM Beads di Seattle.
Il dizionario alla parola "artista" recita anche "persona di temperamento gentile, gusti raffinati ed eccezionalmente sensibile alla bellezza".
Direi più che appropriato per le nostre protagoniste!

Project
number 22 belongs to two Italians, well-known in the world of Facebook
groups dedicated to beads. For parochialism I could not therefore not
interview them and I thank them for having accepted!
Two hints on
who the winners are and then we will find out how this collaboration
between Nicoletta, Daniela and OHM Beads was born.
NICOLETTA SAVOIA lives in the province of Turin (Italy), she became passionate about the world of beads about ten years ago.
He started with Trollbeads and then also wandered with other famous brands and with handcrafted silver and glass beads.
In
his spare time he loves reading, going to music concerts, both pop /
rock and classical and traveling is his greatest passion.
He also
collects bags, bracelets in gold and silver, as well as loves jewels in
all their expressions which he considers, to all intents and purposes,
an art form.
He has a son with whom unfortunately he cannot share
these passions, apart from that for music, since he plays two
instruments and also composes musical pieces.
A husband (!) and two wonderful dogs that she loves like two children complete her life.
DANIELA IEPPARIELLO
lives in Naples (Italy), takes care of her family full time. He has
many interests in various fields. However, her main hobby has become
that of designing silver for modular jewelery and this experience with
OHM Beads has been really important for her.
He loves drawing and being in contact with nature, in this period of confinement due to lockdown, he feels the need even more.
Nicoletta
and Daniela, first of all congratulations on your victory! And now tell
us, who among you had the intent to participate and invited the other?
Nicoletta - I
proposed the word "Give" within the competition promoted by OHM Beads
and I invited Daniela Ieppariello to collaborate with me, since I knew
her outstanding creativity.
Daniela - Niky participated and chose the word, then she tagged me to collaborate.
What
was the motivation that persuaded you, one to participate and the other
to accept the invitation, for this "OHMLAB" project?
Nicoletta - I
almost always participate in the initiatives of competitions related to
beads, I like to get involved, I like the idea of being able to
"create" something, even if I don't consider myself a creative at all!
In this case the contest was not a pure and simple game, nor was it a
quiz. He was asked to suggest a word of only four letters, to create a
new silver bead that would add to the existing series of “Words” of the
brand.
It was therefore a bit of a "challenge" in proposing a completely new and non-existing idea, which intrigued me very much.
Daniela - I
was very happy that Niky had chosen me, I honestly don't know why me
and I don't remember if she wrote other words connecting to other
people. I was and am happy to have had the opportunity to contribute to
the making of an OHM bead. The fact that it can be advertised, to see it
in stores and know that it will be on many people's wrist or necklace,
excites me very much.
How did you come up with the idea of the word GIVE? What role did each of you have in this four-handed project?
Nicoletta - When
it came to proposing a four-letter word, in English of course, my first
thought went to the other words of the OHM silvers already existing…
and one in particular, LOVE, came to mind. So I immediately thought of
the word Give, that is “to give”, to be joined, for example, to the word
LOVE, love… and in any case, in the broadest sense of the term. Give,
be empathetic, generous. To share. Give Love!
Through a sharing
portal we were able to send our ideas and suggestions. We were obviously
asked first of all to design a possible layout of the word. As a first
idea, it occurred to me to replace the letter V of the word GiVe with a
heart, which somehow recalls the shape of V. Daniela then proposed her
part of the imagination relating to the letters and what they suggested
to her.
From these first sketches of ideas, the Ohm Laboratory
gradually began to outline the first phases of the creation of the
graphics, to then move on to a 3D render.
We received the OHMLAB
updates via email, which from time to time asked us to carry out steps
or asked us for opinions on what they were proposing themselves, both in
terms of realization and packaging.
Daniela - The word came to Niky.
We
have both contributed to the design and design the OHM words line has
little room for imagination, as it requires that there are four letters
for each word and these can be customized. Niky chose a heart for the V
because when it is given, it must be done with love, instead I chose the
tree for the I, I was inspired by the first GIVE in the history of
mankind, it was Eve who gave Adam the famous APPLE, full of symbols and
meanings ... my apple falls and rests on the E. We had the opportunity
to choose the box. We preferred an inexpensive package that otherwise
would have risked increasing the price of the bead and in this
historical period it is preferable not to. I showed three drawings of
trees and they chose the one you see in the picture. It is the tree of
life.
When did you know you had won? How was it communicated to you?
Nicoletta - A
few days after the competition began, the names of the winners appeared
on OHM's Facebook page, and we were tagged. I discovered that my word
had been chosen to be transformed into a new bead by OHM! I must admit
that it was a great satisfaction for me!
Daniela - I don't remember exactly, so I think Niky's answer is valid.
Are you satisfied with how the bead was reproduced?
Nicoletta - Personally yes, I am very satisfied. Collaborating remotely for a small project like this was a great experience.
Daniela - I find it delightful as a whole, a word full of meaning and it came harmonic.
Of the other projects that have been completed like yours, which one struck you most?
Nicoletta - I'll be extremely honest: I was not particularly impressed by any of the other projects presented! Each, in his own way, put his own creativity and ideas at the disposal of the OHM brand, which consequently decided on some projects rather than others.
Daniela - The Paws of Love and one that has yet to come out, so I can't speak, it will be interchangeable.
You both received your bead made of silver as a prize, have you already inserted it in a bracelet, perhaps giving it a special meaning?
Nicoletta - Yes, I mounted my GIVE right next to the other OHM LOVE silver, for the reasons I mentioned earlier.
Daniela - I put it on the bangle that I make, of course ;-)
How many years have you collected OHM Beads and how did you get to know the brand?
Nicoletta - I started collecting OHM silver and glass about five years ago, at the moment I no longer have a large amount of beads because over time I have selected what really interested me still, selling the rest.
Daniela - I have known the brand for five years and I love the fact that it gives ordinary people the opportunity to help create the beads, I hope to be able to do more for them.
What is the feature that most intrigues you about this American brand?
Nicoletta - OHM has always represented for me the most playful and light-hearted part of the world of these little silver jewels, that's why she attracted me.
Daniela - I like manufacturing and packaging.
Do you have a suggestion for OHM Beads for the next edition of OHMLab?
Nicoletta - Personally I would like and I would have been pleased that the names of those who have spent on this creation had been disclosed in the release of the bead, even if this has not yet happened. I hope that the brand will propose OHMLAB again in the future, because it was a great collaboration, there was synergy between several people and in the end I must say that the result was satisfying and very pleasant!
Daniela - I don't know ... it seems perfect like this.
Nicoletta, who does not believe she has this quality, I find instead
a very creative woman, in the combinations, in the selection of beads
to wear and also for some ideas like this that have allowed her,
together with Daniela, to win with her own project.
Creativity has
many facets and you don't need to be skilled designers to try your hand
at designing a bead, you just need that spark, that little flash of
genius that will then be translated through various steps, as Nicoletta
and Daniela explained during the interview.
Daniela, who has been
creating beads and accessories for the world of modular jewels for some
years as a hobbyist, has also made her important contribution, it is no
coincidence that Nicoletta has chosen her as a travel companion. Careful
choice that led them straight to victory as well as the satisfaction of
seeing their project realized.

Personally, I find the GIVE bead spot on both as a word in itself and as a realization, the tree instead of the I, the heart instead of the V, the small apple that falls from the tree and lands on the E, I find them some really brilliant ideas which contribute to graphically create a word of impact and, consequently, a bead of value.
